Nickel Plate Beach Nickel Plate Beach in Huron, OH is a popular dog-friendly area on the shores of Lake Erie. Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach, but are prohibited between the hours of 10am and 6pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please leash and clean up after your pets. A parking fee applies. Edgewater Park The 147-acre Edgewater Park is the westernmost park in Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. Fairport Harbor Dog Beach ***Due to recent shoreline erosion, access to the lake for dogs is closed for the safety of both pets and their owners.***

Fairport Harbor Dog Beach is pet-friendly. A dog swim area is located at the east end of the beach between the two signs clearly marked “Dog Swim Area.” This is the only place dogs are allowed on the sand. Dogs not in the swim area must remain on the sidewalks, parking lots or grassy areas. You must leash your dog when it is out of the water and you must carry the leash with you at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up pet waste. Make sure you keep an eye on the weather and any warnings, as the beach is not always accessible.
