Coontree Loop Trail Coontree Loop Trail is a moderately easy, 3.7 mile hike in Pisgah National Forest that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. Fall on this trail offers a cornucopia of color as the leaves changes color, and early spring affords the opportunity to see ridge-top views through trees that have not yet bloomed. Please note that dogs must be leashed between April 1 and August 15, but must be under voice control at all times; Mountain Biking Oct. 15- Apr. 15, Hunting allowed. See Details

Cat Gap Loop Cat Gap Loop is a moderately easy, 5 mile hike in Pisgah National Forest that will take about 3 hours to complete with Fido. Your dog will love this gentle trail that has plenty of water around with its rivers, streams, cascades, and puddles. During the spring and summer enjoy the many wildflowers along the trail, and in fall it is best to wear hunter orange. This hike is slightly easier when hiked in a clockwise direction. Please note that dogs must be on a leash between April 1 and August 15, but must be under control at all times; Hunting allowed. See Details
The Grateful Dog The Grateful Dog Pet Supplies is dog-friendly. Along with stocking food, treats, collars, leashes and more, the store is a big advocate for local animal shelters and rescues. Brevard Dog Park Brevard Dog Park is a dog-friendly 2.7-acre park in Brevard, NC, with separate fenced areas for small and large dogs. There is a shelter where people can sit while their dogs play, benches, shade trees, water fountains for pups and people, and dog waste bags. There is also a walking trail adjacent to the park. The park does sometimes have standing water, so be prepared if your dog enjoys getting excessively muddy! The park is still being developed and plans are being made to remedy the issue. See Details

North Carolina Arboretum The North Carolina Arboretum is a 434-acre natural treasure with 65 acres of cultivated gardens and 10 miles of hiking and biking trails adjacent to the Bent Creek Experimental Forest. The Arboretum offers a variety trails rated as Easy, Easy to Moderate, Moderate, and Moderate to Difficult, and dogs are allowed on all of them with you. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Sierra Nevada in Mills River is dog-friendly! Dogs are welcome on the Back Porch and in certain areas of Upper Park, but not inside any of the buildings. Graveyard Fields Trail Graveyard Fields Trail is a moderately easy, 3.4 mile hike in the Pisgah National Forest that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. This trail was named for the devastating fires in 1925 and 1942, but still offers plenty of beauty. The well-marked trails will bring you by two waterfalls, a river, blueberry bushes, and still offers cool temperatures in the summer.
