Bidwell Park Bidwell Park is the crown jewel of Chico, CA. This sprawling dog-friendly outdoor recreation area offers miles of trails for you and your pup. The park is divided by Manzanita Avenue. Dogs are allowed off leash in Lower Park between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Four-legged guests may be off leash anytime along the north side of Upper Park Road. Off leash dogs must be under voice control. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the the One-Mile or Five-Mile swimming areas and in certain swimming areas in Upper Park. The park is expansive and there are many ways to access it. It is suggested that you visit their website to pick the trail you wish to start at.
