Dewey Beach

In Dewey Beach, Delaware, dogs are allowed on the beach before 9:30 am and after 5:30 pm during the summer (mid-May through mid-September). Dogs are allowed on the beach at all times during the day from mid-September to mid-May. You must clean up after your dog at all times, and all dogs must have a Dewey Beach dog license that can be obtained from Town Hall located at 105 Rodney Ave.

Junction and Breakwater Trail

The Junction and Breakwater Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Dewey Beach! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Junction and Breakwater Trail. Sunset Beach

Paw prints can be found in the sand from leashed dogs at Sunset Beach from mid-September through mid-April. If you get hungry, The Grille has several dog friendly outdoor tables. Dogs are welcome at Sunset Beach Gifts which is open daily and sells souvenirs, books, and collectibles. Sunset Beach is also famous for the concrete ship of SS Atlantus which has been "grounded" at Cape May Point since 1926. End your day with the flag ceremony which is held nightly from May through September.
