In the summer, you can rent paddleboards, rowboats, paddleboats, sailboats, and water cycles. Outside of the swimming area, anglers will find excellent fishing for trout, catfish and bass. The real fun is the 2.7-mile fitness trail featuring exercise stations along the scenic path around the lake. Dogs must be leashed when visiting the park unless visiting one of the dog parks on the property. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach, at events, or in any of the gated areas.

Terri Peak Trail is a moderately easy, 2.8-mile hike in Perris, CA. This dog-friendly trail is located within Lake Perris State Recreation Area and will take about 1.5 hours to complete with Fido. The well-marked trail is a great way to train for higher-altitude hikes. It has some very steep sections where you will gain a lot of elevation and is a great workout, and is accessible year-round. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash. Lake Perris State Recreation Area charges a fee to enter. Fees are per vehicle. If you are entering on foot or bike there is no fee.
