Frozen Head State Park This is a great place to spend the day with dogs and kids. It is a short drive from Knoxville (about an hour) and near Oak Ridge. There are several trails, primitive camping, picnic area and playground. It is like being in the Smokey Mountains without the crowds! Lots of streams and shade and very peaceful. Big Turtle Dog Park Big Turtle Dog Park is pet-friendly. This is a great fenced-in area for dogs to run around and enjoy a game of fetch. Located in west Oak Ridge at Big Turtle Park, the dog park provides two fenced areas for dogs to exercise off-leash, one for dogs under 30 pounds and one for all dogs. Amenities at the park include benches for dog owner’s relaxation, pet waste bag dispenser stations, trash cans and a water fountain in each area. Tommy Shumpert Park at PetSafe Village The Tommy Shumpert Park is affiliated with Pet Safe Village and has two separate off-leash fenced in dog parks. One for small dogs (30 lbs and under) and one for dogs of any size. The small dog park has lots of grass and mulch to keep your pup's feet comfy. There are benches and lots of space for small dogs to run around without getting harassed by the big dogs. The "all sizes" area has lots of grass, benches, and a mulch walking trail. City of Loudon Parks & Recreation Dog Park This is a brand new off leash dog park in Loudon TN. There are three separate fenced-in areas for Fido to play in. The park does include an area for medium and large dogs. A nice clean restroom is provides for Fido's owners. This is not a very big park but Loudon is not a very big town so in my opinion the park is "just right" for the area. There is parking for probably 6 to 10 vehicles including a handicapped spot. Area "C" is free and not restricted. This area is designated for visitors only. A waiver does not need to be completed for this area. Area's "A" and "B" require the waiver as well as a $10.00 fee per dog for 6 months.
