Leashed dogs are allowed everywhere except buildings. Mammoths, lions, and camels once roamed along wetlands just north of what is now known as Las Vegas, Nevada. Their history is preserved at Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument and is ready to be discovered. The national monument is 22,650 acres and stretches along US Highway 95 north of Aliante to Creech Air Force Base. Because it’s a new park, there is no visitor center, facilities or parking areas. Right now to access the park, people can park on nearby public roads in the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, and they can enter the monument on foot.

Pet Friendly Spring Mountain Ranch in Blue Diamond, NV
Spring Mountain Ranch is dog-friendly. Located adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, there are lots of hiking trails throughout the park to explore. Along the way, you can stop in a tree-shaded picnic area and use the provided grills to heat up a sausage for Fido. The entrance fee is $10. Dogs are welcome to join their owners, as long as they are on a leash and all mess is cleaned up after them. The opening times of this area vary depending on the time of year. The park is open in June, July or August from 8am to 8pm; September from 8am to 7pm; October from 8am to 6pm; November, December, January and February from 8:00am to 4:30pm; March and April from 8:00am to 6:00pm; and May from 8:00am to 7:00pm.
