Will Rogers State Historic Park Dogs are allowed at Will Rogers State Historic Park, home to the ranch owned by the popular actor of the 1930s, Will Rogers. Unfortunately, at the height of his fame in 1935, Rogers was killed in a plane crash. Nearly a decade after his death, his wife donated the park to California State Parks. In addition to the 31-room ranch house, the grounds are also home to guest housing, a stable, corrals, riding ring, roping arena, polo field, golf course, and riding trails. Fido can join you at this historic park, but must remain on a six-feet leash for the duration of their stay. Although they aren't allowed in the neighboring Topanga State Parka, your pooch can join you on the Rivas Canyon Trail that leads to Temescal Gateway Park. A kennel master will look after your pooch during the journey, clean up, and even walk them in the recreation area. Dogs heading to the U.K. from the U.S. will require microchipping, rabies vaccinations, tapeworm and flea and tick treatment (within a certain time of your trip), and a pet passport. Everything needs to be signed off by a veterinarian along the way. Dogs heading the other way need a valid health certificate and a rabies vaccination.
