Sherwood Island State Park Dogs are welcome at Sherwood Island State Park, Connecticut's first state park, in the off season. This public recreation area can be found on the shore of Long Island Sound and offers swimming, fishing, and other activities. The 238 acres of beach, wetlands, and woodlands provides a varied landscape for you and Fido to enjoy. You can bring Fido to the park during the off-season from October 1 to April 14.
