U.S. National Whitewater Center The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is a dog-friendly non-profit on 400 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River in Charlotte, NC. Visitors can enjoy mountain biking, running trails, a climbing center, zip lines, high rope courses, and the multiple-channel, customized whitewater river. Leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds, outdoor restaurants, hiking trails, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, but they cannot join you on the zip line, ropes courses or whitewater rafts. Incendiary Brewing Company Incendiary Brewing Company is pet-friendly. Leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners at this craft brewery located in the Innovation Quarter of Winston-Salem. For the non-beer drinkers, they have hard cider and some varieties of wine. They allow well-behaved and leashed dogs. Deep Point Marina - Bald Head Island Ferry Head out from Deep Point Marina and travel to Southport, NC on the pet-friendly Bald Head Island Ferry. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are free with a paying passenger. Dogs are not allowed inside the passenger cabin but are permitted in the exterior areas of the ferry. For most of the year, ferries leave the mainland on the hour and the island on the half-hour, beginning at 7 AM. The winter schedule may be abbreviated, and the summer schedule expanded.
