Rotary Centennial Park Dog Park

Rotary Centennial Park Dog Park is Hernando County's first dog park, located two blocks south of Northcliffe Boulevard and three blocks west of Mariner Boulevard. This is an 8-acre park, with 3-acres that is for dogs only. It offers three separate fenced areas - one for small dogs, one for large dogs and the third for guide, therapy or very shy dogs. Meadows Dog Park

Meadows Dog Park is nestled away in the back of a neighborhood. It is located on a river with one side for small dogs, and another side for large dogs. There is play equipment for kids as well.

Anclote Gulf Dog Park

This park is designed for both small and large dogs, consisting of over 24,000 square feet. There are fenced areas for both sizes, plus a doggie drinking fountain, fire hydrant, tunnels to run through, and even covered benches for the owners to sit and watch.

Carolyn Meeker Dog Park and Nature Trail

The Carolyn Meeker Dog Park (aka Lutz Dog Park) is approximately 2 acres and separated into a large dog area and small dog area. A pond sits in between both dog areas. At the main parking area (122 1st Avenue SW) there are entrances for both dog areas and the nature trail. The main parking lot is graveled, has concrete handicap parking area, a bulletin board with information of interest, a handicap accessible Portolet and a human/dog water fountain. There is a second large dog area entrance with its own parking area next to John’s Butcher shop (102 1st Avenue SW). Both dog areas have benches to sit on and poop bag dispensers. The large dog area has a covered bench next to the concrete restroom building. It also has a dog time out area.

Citrus County Dog Park

This enclosure is provided for the purpose of allowing well-behaved dogs to exercise and socialize free of a leash while under the immediate supervision of a responsible adult. Please encourage your fellow dog park users to follow these rules so that the facility will continue to be available for your use. By using this facility, all participants agree to the following rules: 1. Canine and human visitors enter at own risk. 2. All dogs must be spayed or neutered. Unsterilized dogs, and/or puppies under four (4) months of age are prohibited. 3. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries caused by their dogs. If an incident occurs, owners must exchange contact information before leaving the park. 4. All owners/handlers must be at least 18 years old and have photo identification. All dogs should also wear an owner identification tag at all times. 5. Each owner/handler must have a leash for each dog in their possession at all times and may not have more than two dogs in her or his possession at any time while in the park. 6. Dogs must be kept on a leash until inside the double gated entry. Enter the first gate with leash on and remove it prior to entering the second gate. Do the reverse when leaving. 7. For the safety of your dog(s) and other park visitors, choke, prong (pinch) and spike collars are strictly prohibited. If you use these types of collars, remove them before entering the park. 8. Dogs are not allowed to dig within the park. Owners/handlers must keep their dogs from digging and fill in any holes that are inadvertently dug. 9. Dogs must be properly inoculated and healthy, free of contagious conditions, diseases, and parasites and must display a current County License at all times. 10. Children must be at least 56” tall to enter and are to remain closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times. The adult must be inside the fence with the child. 11. Owners/handlers must clean up and properly dispose of waste left by their dog(s). 12. Dogs must be under voice control and in sight of owners/handlers at all times. 13. No aggressive, under socialized, anxious, or fearful dogs! Any dog exhibiting aggressive behavior must be leashed and removed immediately. 14. No food, treats, bones, or edible toys are allowed. 15. Please take out anything you bring in. 16. Smoking in the Dog Park is prohibited. 17. Park hours are from sunrise to sunset. Violators of park rules are subject to removal from the park, loss of park privileges, and possible legal action such as citation and/or trespass. Holden Community Park

This is an approved Dog Walking Park. Dog Walking Rules: 1. Dogs must be walked along the walking/jogging trails, and may not enter the fields and other public areas 2. Dogs may be walked during daylight hours 3. Owners must clean-up after their dogs 4. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times 5. Please refrain from walking dogs at sites where special events are taking place
