You will have an option to pass over the creek on a footbridge to hike the east side of it. Taylor Creek Trail Taylor Creek Trail is a pet-friendly path in Merlin, OR. It's a moderately easy, 5.6-mile hike in Siskiyou National Forest that will take about 2.5 hours to complete with Fido. Start out at the trailhead across Forest Road 25 from Big Pine Campground and head 0.7 mile uphill to Taylor Creek Trail. Bear right left onto the trail. 3 miles into the hike, at Lone Tree Pass, the trail crosses Forest Road 2509 and can be used as a pick up or drop off point to shorten the trail.
