Eagle Island State Park Eagle Island State Park is a 545-acre, dog-friendly park in Eagle, ID, home to five miles of trails that can be enjoyed by dogs and their owners. Most of the trails lead through grassy meadows to the Boise River and are perfect for pooches and their owners to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Ridge to River Trail System The Ridge to River Trail System is a dog-friendly network of over 190 miles of trails, weaving around the foothills of the capital city of Idaho, Boise. The trails in this network not only link the hills together, but also local neighborhoods. They vary in difficulty, ranging from steep and difficult pathways through the hills, to more gradual inclines. Although Fido must stay on their leash for most of the trails, including the Freestone Creek Trail, the Oregon Trail, and the Veterans Trail; there are a few controlled off-leash trails as well, such as the Corrals Trail, the Three Bears Trail, Shane's Loop, and the Ponds Loop. Stoddard Pathway The Stoddard Pathway is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
