Waterdog Lakes Trail Leashed dogs can join you on Waterdog Lakes Trail, a pet-friendly, 3.6-mile hike through the San Isabel National Forest in Salida, CO. This is a quick and easy hike for those who are regular hikers. The trail runs alongside a stream and upward through an evergreen forest. You will reach the lakes at the timberline where Fido can take the opportunity to cool down with a splash in the water. Please note that the parking area is a dirt pull-off on the left side of the highway, and use caution crossing to the trailhead on the other side of the road. See Details

Mount Antero Trail Mount Antero Trail is a challenging 9.2-mile hike in the San Isabel National Forest outside of Buena Vista, CO. This pet-friendly hike brings you to a series of tight, short and steep switchbacks on Mount Antero, the tenth highest Fourteener. There isn't a lot of water on the trail aside from a creek at the beginning, so be sure to pack some for your journey. Midland Bike Trail The Midland Bike Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Buena Vista! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Midland Bike Trail.
