Dog Friendly Hiking Trails in Retallack, BC

Emerald Lake is a pet-friendly destination in Kettle Falls, WA. Your leashed pup is welcome to tag along as you witness this small, beautifully colored lake. The viewpoint is accessed by foot from the Trout Lake Trailhead and is a 4.8-mile hike.

Kootenay National Park is a dog-friendly park in Radium Hot Springs, BC. Leashed dogs are welcome to accompany you as you hike. The prime season for hiking runs from July through mid-September. There are short hikes, day hikes, and multi-day hikes to enjoy with Fido.

Glacier National Park in Rogers Pass, BC, is dog-friendly. Scale its heights following trails pioneered by legendary Swiss mountain guides, take a gentle stroll amid moss-draped old-growth cedars or hike through alpine meadows strewn with lichen-covered boulders. Dogs are welcome if they are leashed, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. The park is open year-round; valley trails open in May, while upper-elevation trails are snowed-in into early July. Day-use areas open in June, and campgrounds open in late June. The ski season is November to April.

Dogs are not allowed on the shuttle van, but are welcome on the lower slopes of Mount Revelstoke, but must remain on a leash at all times. Off-leash dogs can disturb and injure wildlife or trigger aggressive responses from predators such as bears. Clean up any mess that your pooch leaves behind.

Located on the north side of the Nelson airport in Nelson, BC, with entrances at both ends, the Lakefront Walkway features a pet-friendly gravel walking path alongside the lake for you and your pup to enjoy. The area between the waterfront and runway is designated as off leash, however, the area isn't fenced in and only has fencing along the airport runway. Please clean up after your pets and keep them leashed when outside of the off-leash area.

Bottleneck Lake and Snow Lake Trail is a 11.4-mile hike that will take about 6 hours to complete with Fido. What once used to be a short trail now is much longer and leads you to Snow Lake, which provides a rare thing for the Idaho Selkirks: solitude. The path was once over taken by logging, but now the forest is growing back and wildlife returning to make for a nice wilderness trail.

Priest Lake - Lakeshore Trail is a 7.6-mile, pet-friendly hike in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest in Nordman, ID, that will take about 4 hours to complete with Fido. This trail follows the shoreline of Priest Lake, one of the most beautiful in the area. This easy hike is great for all seasons.

Ball and Pyramid Lakes Trail is a 4-mile, pet-friendly hike that will take about 3 hours to complete with Fido. This mountain trail takes you into the wilderness where caribou and bear reside. Although it is rare to see a grizzly bear you should keep your dog under control.

Salmo-Priest Loop is a pet-friendly 19-mile hike in Metaline Falls, WA that will take about two days to complete with Fido. This trail will take you by beautiful alpine scenery, meadows and an incredible old-growth cedar forest. Grizzly bears and caribou reside in this federal wilderness area, but you aren't likely to see them.

West Fork Trail is a 10-mile hike that will take about 6 to 7 hours to complete with Fido. This hike is a great retreat from the summer since the old-growth forests and abundance of water via the lake and creeks keep you cool. Keep your dog close by as there are bear in this area, along with plenty of mosquitoes.

Upper Priest River Trail in Bonners Ferry, ID, is a 16-mile hike that will take about 8 hours to complete with Fido. The old-growth forest that surrounds this pet-friendly river trail is one of the finest in the Selkirk Range and is home to grizzlies and caribou.

Fido is welcome to join you on this 5-mile hike that takes you through spectacular rolling hills, far-off views and plenty of meadows. It's essential to pack mosquito repellent and water during your adventure.

Sullivan Lakeshore is a pet-friendly attraction in Metaline Falls, WA. Your leashed pup is welcome to tag along on this 8.2-mile round-trip hike. During your adventure, you will find a hardwood forest filled with aspen, hemlock and birch trees along the largest natural lake in the Colville National Forest.
