Pet Friendly Cheaha State Park
Cheaha State Park Dogs are welcome in most parks as long as the dog is on a leash. Bike and horseback riding trails may not allow dogs for safety reasons. Dogs are not allowed in stores, food service areas, bathhouse, pool or swimming areas. Dogs can not be left unattended and will be confiscated if left in a hot car more than 30 minutes. Surrounded completely by the Talladega National Forest, Cheaha State Park is ideal for access to the Kentuck ORV-ATV Trail. Additionally, the park is home to the Cheaha Trailhead of the Pinhoti Trail, which connects with the Appalachian Trail and accesses the Odum Scout Trail, and the Chinnabee Silent Trail. Bald Rock Boardwalk at Cheaha State Park Bald Rock Boardwalk at Cheaha State Park is a shorter hike through a canopy lined with pretty wildflowers. This half-mile loop is perfect for dogs and humans of all abilities. The cherry on top is the view when you reach the end. Dogs must be leashed throughout their visit and all mess should be cleaned up after them. The Doug Ghee Accessible Trail to Bald Rock is easily reached from the main road in the heart of Cheaha State Park. The elevated boardwalk is handicap accessible, with plenty of benches along the 1,520 ft. walkway. Multiple side trails are available just off of the boardwalk. Some of these trails parallel the elevated boardwalk, while others lead off into the wilder sections of the park. See Details
