Pet Friendly Deschutes River Trail
Deschutes River Trail Deschutes River Trail is a pet-friendly path in Bend, OR. It's an easy, 8.5-mile hike in Deschutes National Forest that will take about 5 hours to complete with Fido. Set out on the Benham Falls trail and go 0.7 mile to Benham Falls. Another 0.2 mile past the Falls you will connect with the Deschutes River Trail. Please note that dogs must be on leash. See Details

Todd Lake Trail Todd Lake Trail is a pet-friendly path in Bend, OR. It's a moderately easy, 5.6-mile hike that will take about 4 hours to complete with Fido. This wide trail leads to a walk-in campground as well as the very popular Todd Lake. A leash is highly recommended due to the heavy crowds during peak season. Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort There are so many ways to have fun with your pup at the Mount Bachelor Ski Resort in Bend, OR. Dogs are allowed on the Pine Marten chair lift during the summer months, as long as they are fitted with an owner-provided full body harness capable of safely supporting the animal’s weight in the event a lift evacuation is required. Fido is also allowed on approved dog-friendly hiking trails, but must remain under restricted length (8 feet or less) leash control. Mt. Bachelor does not offer an off-leash area in the summer due to protected wildlife and vegetation. Hiking tickets are available for a fee. During the winter months the resort provides an off-leash, Ruffwear Dog Park. The park has a snow-play area for dogs, as well as dog toys. The park can be found at the far west end of the West Village parking area. The Mt. Bachelor Base Area is a "Doggie Free Zone." Dogs must remain in the parking lot (on a leash) or supervised in the Ruffwear Dog Park. See Details
Deschutes National Forest The vast majority of the Bend, OR's Deschutes National Forest is pet-friendly and accommodates off-leash opportunities for dogs. From May 15 to September 15, dogs must be leashed in campgrounds, in Three Sisters Wilderness Area (Green Lakes, Moraine Lakes, South Sister, Soda Creek, Todd Lake and Crater Ditch trails), and the Deschutes River Trail (unless they are exiting or entering the water). In winter (November 1 to May 1) dogs are allowed on all but 1% of the Deschutes National Forest. The area where dogs are not allowed is located north of the Cascade Lakes Highway and includes areas accessed by the Virginia-Meissner, Swampy Lakes, Vista Butte and Dutchman Sno-Parks. Dogs are allowed in the area with a permit, for the purpose of skijoring or dog sledding. See Details

Dogs are welcome to join their owners on the trek to the double falls, as long as they are leashed. There is an accessible trail to its picnic sites and an overlook; however, parking at this site requires a recreation pass, which can't be purchased on site. Dog owners will need to check out Paulina Falls Day Use Area's official website for information on where to purchase a recreation pass. Peter Skene Ogden Trail Peter Skene Ogden Trail is a pet-friendly path in La Pine, OR. It's a moderately easy, 9.5-mile hike that will take about 6 hours to complete with Fido. If you enjoy the sound of flowing water, than you will love this hike that follows Paulina Creek to Paulina Lake passing waterfalls along the way. Mountain bikers are only allowed to ride this trail uphill, and although horses can use the hill in both directions they have a separate parallel trail. Please note that a Northwest Forest Pass is required. The trail starts at the Ogden Group Camp in Newberry National Volcanic Monument, just north of La Pine. See Details
