March’s Best Dog-Friendly Events
Posted by Kayla Mack
Napa Humane’s Pawsport
Throughout March, your furry best friend can accompany you on visits to wineries and restaurants in Napa, CA. These businesses proudly contribute to Napa Humane's life-saving programs and services through their Pawsport program. Enjoy exclusive tastings, spoil your dog with special treats, and benefit from various discounts. Your ticket includes 2-for-1 tastings at 24 pet-friendly approved sites.
Make it a weekend visit to wine country by booking a room at Hotel Indigo Napa Valley or SENZA Hotel for you and your canine companion.
Pup Crawl & Pet Expo
On March 3, head out on a journey with your pooch to the Pup Crawl & Pet Expo at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Explore the 155-acre nature sanctuary and enjoy four beer stops courtesy of Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Along the way, you can discover local pet vendors offering everything from handmade treats to stylish accessories. Then, be sure to pick up your commemorative Pup Crawl & Pet Expo glass, a keepsake to cherish the memories of a fantastic day with your furry friend.
After your hike through the trails, get a good night’s sleep at Magnolia Hotel Houston, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, which requires no additional pet fee.
Corgi Races
Fido can enjoy a hockey game and place his bets at the Corgi Races on Saturday, March 9, when the Fargo Forces battle the Lincoln Stars. Stick around for the first and second intermissions to watch the “pawticipants” compete for first place. Or, enter your low-riding ball of floof into the competition. Don't miss the chance to fetch some exclusive Corgi-themed merchandise available at the auditorium, and make sure to arrive early to snag fantastic giveaway items for you and your pup!
The nearby Best Western Plus Kelly Inn & Suites will welcome furry fanatics with a smile and spoil them with treats.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Prepare to deck Fido out in his top-notch green ensemble and join the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 10. Hackettstown, NJ, proudly attracts over 14,000 visitors at the event annually, making St. Paddy proud. Ahead of the parade, Czig Meister Brewing, sponsored by Doggie Styleash, will organize a pet costume contest. The celebration features dynamic Irish group dances, musical acts by bands, appearances from community groups and rescue squads, and more to keep you entertained.
After the parade, escape to this private, secluded house on five acres to rejuvenate for the upcoming day.
Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival
The organizers of the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival take “dog friendly” up a notch. Explore a pet world with entertaining activities and vendors catering to your four-legged friends. Bring the entire family to partake in over 100 art booths, enjoy live music, engage in a kid zone, and accompany your pup on a stroll along the trail around Blackburn Park to admire the vibrant pink blossoms. The festival will be held on the weekend of March 23 in Atlanta, GA. The event is free; however, some activities might charge admission.
Following the festival, Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta eagerly awaits you and Fido for no additional pet fee. Doggy beds and bowls are thoughtfully provided, along with a designated pet relief area.
Mad Paws Doggie Egg Hunt
Join the Easter festivities by dressing your pooch in bunny ears and helping him sniff out as many eggs as you can at a Mad Paws Doggie Egg Hunt on March 30. Switchyard Park Dog Park will be scattered with hidden treats ready for Fido to find! The event also has pet-centric vendors and a chance to win a prize basket.
After the event, head to Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Bloomington to check out your pup's winnings.
