Leashed dogs are invited to this annual event featuring a pumpkin patch, food trucks, ice cream, cider, popcorn, costume contests, bounce houses, and adoption specials on dogs and cats.

This dog-friendly fall festival features live music, local food trucks, face and pumpkin painting, gardening crafts, bounce houses and free family activities. Guests can also explore a neighborhood scarecrow showcase featuring creative displays from local businesses and families, with prizes awarded to standout creations.

Hosted by AthensPets and presented by Phil Hughes Honda, this annual event features a costume contest beginning at 3:00 PM, with the parade starting at 4:30 PM. Categories include Best Theme Costume, Best Pet/Handler Combo, and Best General. Participants can enjoy live music from Historic Athens' Porchfest and local vendors. All dogs on the parade route must be registered. Registration of dog(s) must be completed prior to parade. Registration closes once 150 dogs are registered. Dogs require their own registration ticket.

The 2026 event has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 31st If you have a Wiener or almost Wiener dog, you cannot miss this annual event! All Dachshunds will be grouped by weight and must be less than 25 lbs to participate. In addition to racing, there will be other activities like a Doggy Parade and Costume Contest! Dachshund-mix dogs may race in special “Almost Wiener” heat, but are ineligible for the grand prize trophy run. Other breeds are ineligible to race, but are welcome to come cheer on their fur friends! Registered dogs need to check in at the registration desk between 9 AM – 10:45 AM.

Every Saturday during October, bring Fido for a spooky outdoor scavenger hunt through the Wormsloe State Historic Site! Leashed dogs are welcome, but please note that Fido isn't permitted inside buildings. Visitors will follow clues to find the skeletons. If you find them all, you'll receive a treat.

Decorate your vehicle for Halloween and hand out candy and treats to children and pups! Prizes will be awarded to best costumes, best pet costume and best vehicle decoration. If you decorate your vehicle and hand out candy the parking fee will be waived. Hayrides and other activities will also be offered.
