16th Annual South Beach Dachshund Winterfest

Bring Fido out to this festive day out for dachshunds (all breeds welcome). Dogs and people socialize. Strangers marvel. There are a few dog-oriented activities and a dachshund funhouse. A dachshund-loving dignitary says a few words and they day ends with a spirited singing of the Dach Song and a Grand March. • Except for treats and bowls of dog water, no food or drink is for sale (it's a small park so you can bring picnic items), but there are many dog-friendly outdoor cafes on Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road. Attendees are often spotted dining and drinking in style after the festivities.

5th Annual Doggy Fun Fest & 2nd Annual Struttin for Strays Walk

Bring Fido for a fun-filled day for dogs and their friends! This event is held annually to raise needed funds to support local rescues, pet shelters and Rotary community projects. Doggy Fun Fest features music, youth-friendly activities, pet adoptions, Struttin' for Strays pet walk, Notschund races, Doggie Fun Zone(c), pet cool zone, and much more. • This year our Struttin’ for Strays will be held prior to the start of the general event at 10am and will consist of a mile and a quarter strut down NE 12th Avenue with your pets and friends.

The "BE MINE" Annual Community Dog Show

Bring Fido to this 3rd annual event that's a fur-friendly, tail waggin' good time for the entire family. Contest categories include best trick, best dress-a-like, ugliest most unique, best dancer, most athletic, most obedient to name a few. There will be a Chinese Auction featuring dozens donated prizes from local businesses. A Silent Auction for higher priced donations. • There will also be a variety of vendors giving attendees the opportunity to find that special something for their dog, their Valentine, or themselves. • All competing dogs must show proof of current vaccinations and rabies tag. Only buckle collars are allowed. No choke chains, shock or prong collars. Dogs must have their vaccinations current. • Event benefits The Peter Brewer Scholarship Fund which was begun to honor Mr. Brewer; a longtime active community resident who believed all children deserve an excellent public education.
