Guided bird-watching walk through the gardens led by naturalist Sheila Webber, welcoming your leashed pup. Explore wildlife habitat and native Colorado plants while spotting birds around the trees and pond, set among Zimbabwean soapstone sculptures. All ages welcome, and binoculars are recommended.

Morning bird-watching event for nature lovers and their leashed furry friends, featuring a live bird banding demonstration and guided walk through restored prairie and wetland habitats. At 9 AM, Scott leads a hands-on banding session with songbirds, followed by a 10 AM guided birding walk around Equalizer Lake with Sheila. Weather permitting.

Bring Fido on a guided trail walk in a restored native open space, led by Restoration Ecologists. Learn about the restoration work that has been accomplished, the wildlife that lives there and HPEC’s role in ongoing stewardship to preserve the wildlife habitat.

Santa will be available for photos and visits with Fido at the base of the Grand Staircase on four special Monday evenings this holiday season. Pets must be leashed or in a pet carrier, and reservations are highly encouraged.

On select Saturdays this winter, learn the sport of cross-country skiing with your dog as you head out on the award-winning Nordic ski trails at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Skijoring is easy to learn, an incredible workout, and a fun activity for both of you to enjoy during the winter. Meet outside at Zach's Mercantile 30 minutes before the clinic to be outfitted.
