Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team host one of the biggest Halloween pet events in the world! The parade is expected to include a few hundred kids and adults in costumes, followed by more than 450 costumed dogs with handlers. A few thousand human gawkers will line the parade route, including a panel of distinguished judges that will choose a few dozen human and canine costume winners. Haute Dogs will raise thousands for spay/neuter programs, adoption/rescue groups, Operation Santa Paws and other Long Beach service projects.

It's beer festival meets dog parade at this fun-filled event! Both humans and dogs alike are invited to join the festivities every weekend in October. Enjoy a gorgeous walk in the garden with your pup while you taste a variety of beers, take a spin and dance with your pooch, shop at a doggy marketplace, and let your pup show his skills on an obstacle course. Dottie’s at the Koi Pond will be serving up bratwursts, warm soft pretzels and other Bavarian favorites.

The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run is the original festive race for charity. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume and feel good about doing good. Bring a team of friends, family and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your pup is kept on a leash at all times. Check-in is a 7 AM and the race begins at 8:15 AM.

These monthly Dachshund races allow dog owners lure their short-legged but swift dogs to the finish line with toys, treats, friends or enemies. Every Wiener is a winner because each dog gets a prize even if they don't run! Limited spectator tickets are available on race day at the Wienerdog store. All event attendees are required to park ONLY in the free parking structure adjacent to Old World Village, located behind Hotel Huntington Beach, off of Huntington Village Lane.

This dog-friendly meet-up is hosted by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance. Dog owners bring their leashed pups for a short group walk through downtown Long Beach to socialize and connect with other dog owners. This event occurs on the first Tuesday of every month at either 5 PM or 6 PM, depending on the season. Check their website for current schedule.
