Dog Events in Surf City, NC

Held in the spacious Big Field, the event brings together live performances by local musicians, over 100 independent maker vendors, and more than 50 food trucks and craft beer/cider options. You’ll also find festive activities like hayrides, inflatables, lawn games, photo booths, and a pumpkin patch stocked with free pumpkins. All dogs must be leashed, well-behaved and cleaned up after.

Hosted by US Dog Coalition & Rescue, this celebration is packed with fun for pups and their people! Enjoy exciting contests, engaging demonstrations, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow dog lovers. Local rescues will be on site with adoptable pets. Costumes are encouraged for both dogs and their humans.

All creatures great and small are welcome to this annual blessing. There will be a short service followed by individual blessings for each pet.

This dog-friendly Yappy Hour invites pups and their people to enjoy an evening at the dog park with local pet businesses and drinks available for purchase by guests ages 21 and older. Admission is free, thanks to support from Dix Park Conservancy donors.

Guests can enjoy activities such as a keg toss, bag toss, stein hoist, and axe throwing while sampling food from a variety of local vendors. Gift cards are awarded to competition winners, and some contests are limited to participants 21 and older.

This dog-friendly fundraiser features a 5K and an untimed 1-mile fun run through the scenic trails of Hammocks Beach State Park. Participants can enjoy quality time and exercise with their pups while supporting Misplaced Mutts, including its efforts to help dogs find forever homes and fund a spay, neuter and wellness clinic. All participants receive a T-shirt, and 5K registrants also receive a participation medal.

This dog-friendly 1-mile walk and 5K supports Canines for Service and its mission to provide service dogs to Veterans. Held in celebration of World Mental Health Day, the event welcomes runners, walkers and leashed dogs for an afternoon of community, wellness and support for Veterans.

A fun race for dogs and their owners featuring timed divisions: Big Dog 11K and Lil Pup 6K. Leashed dogs can run alongside their humans on sandy, pine-forest trails; human-only 6K and 11K divisions are also available.

Leashed dogs are welcome this night only for magical displays, candy stations, a costume contest, animations, photo ops, food, beverages, and a vendor market, all in a walk-through, immersive setting. Tickets must be bought in advance, as the event has limited capacity and often sells out.

This fun-filled, family-friendly Halloween celebration features costume contests for kids and pets! Registration begins at 11 AM, and the pet costume contest is at 3 PM. Enjoy exciting entertainment including stilt walkers, kids activities, vendors and more!

Prizes will be given for best dressed individual and best dressed family. Only registered participants with an official bib will be allowed into the park. Spectators won't be permitted entry. Dogs aren't permitted in Santa's Village.

The Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your dog is kept on a leash. Check-in starts at 9 AM and the race begins at 10 AM.

Join your friends and neighbors on Main Street to enjoy the lighted floats and vehicles representing groups from all across the area. Judges and a special guest announcer will be located at the end of the Horseshoe on Main Street and Ocean Blvd. Parade Route: The parade will begin at 2nd Ave North and proceed South to Main Street where it will turn right onto Main Street and travel to Ye Olde Kings Hwy turning right to conclude the parade.

Prepare to make paw-some holiday memories with a professional photo of your pup with Santa! There will be Triangle Beagle Rescue merchandise for sale, vendors and a food truck on site.

TWO DATES ONLY: Sunday, November 29th, and Saturday, December 12th Bring Fido to meet Santa Clause, and your camera and capture the perfect Christmas card photo. All well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Other pets must be crated.
