Dog Events in Van Alstyne, TX

As part of the Gemüetlichkeit (goodwill) Games at McKinney Oktoberfest, Weenie Dogs (Dachshunds) and Wannabe Weenie Dogs (all other breeds) are invited to compete in the races to be crowned Top Dog! The races will be held in the competition area on East Louisiana Street.

Leashed dogs are welcome at this German-themed festival where folks don lederhosen and enjoy authentic German food, domestic and imported beers, live music, and carnival games including the Weenie Dog Races & Wannabe Weenie Dog Races! The celebration spans multiple blocks and offers something for everyone, from traditional fare and fun to festive entertainment.

Leashed dogs (costumes encouraged!) are welcome at this festive 1.2-mile stroll filled with decorated stations, spooky characters, and candy for trick-or-treaters of all ages. It’s a cherished local tradition offering a safe, Halloween-themed outing for the whole family.

Co-hosted with Highlands Eldorado Veterinary Hospital, dogs and families are invited to this fun evening featuring local vendors, a petting zoo, candy, games, drinks and more!

This dog-friendly Halloween celebration features trick-or-treating for pets and people, spooky photo opportunities, raffles, prizes and a pet costume contest. Guests can bring their pups for a fun-filled afternoon of festive activities!

On the third Saturday of each month this spring, leashed dogs are welcome at this outdoor market featuring live music, a variety of local vendors, and access to TUPPS Brewery's on-site food hall and craft beers.

McKinney’s Home for the Holidays is a festive, free community event transforming Historic Downtown into a winter wonderland with a dazzling tree lighting, visits with Santa, children’s crafts, a charming carousel, and Frosty’s Holiday Train.
