When you want to really spoil your dog, or just meet other dog owners in Alabama who are as crazy about their pets as you, there’s no better place to bring Fido than a dog event. Attend any of the dog shows, agility competitions, costume parades, festivals or fundraisers in Alabama on our Dog Events Calendar and you’ll meet hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dog lovers. And since 70% of the events listed benefit humane societies, attending one is a great way to help homeless pets too.

Mutt Strut Since 2009, yellow labs and pups of all shapes and sizes in the Yellowhammer State have come together to take part in the Mutt Strutt to raise money for Hand in Paw, a nonprofit organization that trains volunteer handlers and animal therapy teams to work with local medical centers, schools, and human service organizations. The popular event includes a competitive 5k race and a not-so-competitive 1-mile fun run. Runners receive a T-shirt and a doggy bandana.
