Description
Dogs are allowed at the Cottonwood Group Campground in Joshua Tree National Park. There are three group sites available on a first come, first serve basis. Check-in is at the Cottonwood Visitor Center between 8am and 4pm. Each campsite (tent only) includes a shaded awning and several picnic tables. Flush toilets, drinking water, and plenty of parking are also available. There are a number of nature and hiking trails, but absolutely no rock climbing or Joshua Trees in the immediate area. You may want to head farther north in the park for the day to catch some more scenic views at the park's higher elevations. To get to the Cottonwood Group Campground, take I-10, 25 miles east of Indio. Mecca/29 Palms off ramp to Joshua Tree National Park.
