Yes, they have no pet fees. Yes, they allow large dogs (I have a German shepherd and a Great Dane) but you are only allowed 2, no more. Here is the problem, no dog area. They have pet stations but all they offer is a 3 x 6 sand area with trashy water running through it. Here is the bigger issue, we have been staying at cheap run down hotels for over a month now since we are waiting to close on our house in Arizona and my husband travels for work so we all go with him. So money needs to be saved every chance we get so we stay at cheap hotels.
We are used to broken down rooms, toilets and showers and sinks not working. We are use to all the negative things people complain about. It is what it is. BUT this place I actually felt unsafe. They have it gated up so you cannot enter unless you have a key card and I understand why. The homeless population is soooo bad. The chaos, the dirtiest, the drugs, the crime, the ladies of the night.... all of it. This is the kind of place bad things happen. So since I cannot walk my dogs around here on the property to go to the bathroom because my dogs need dirt or grass, I have nowhere to go. I cannot leave the property alone with them.
My dogs will help scare off most but I am worried about the people who don't mind dogs that are dangerous. The rooms are cleaner and well kept. The hotel is doing a surprisingly good job and maintaining the rooms than any other in this type of situation so it's not the rooms. It's not the hotel (although they need an actually dog area), it's the location and chaos around it.

We were on a cross country trip and originally booked another Red Roof Inn. After tweaking the trip a bit, I went to rebook that one but seemingly booked this one instead. There was a big event in town so most hotels were sold out. We showed up and there were loiterers everywhere. Lots of addicts hanging around. Probably wasn't a good sign the entire motel was fenced in.
We left and parked at the 7/11 next door while we regrouped to figure out what we wanted to do. While there, we saw a security guard armed to the nines. After sitting there for a bit he came over and knocked on our window to check on us. He told us he wanted to be sure we were OK because we were in a bad neighborhood at dusk and someone just got stabbed at the 7/11 the night before.
We called the specific Red Roof Inn which went to a call center. They cancelled our reservation (and as of today, haven't charged us for it). So only positive I have about this experience is the customer service.

Room was dirty and outdated smelt like cigarettes. Had to use toilet paper as a toilet seat cove. There was graffiti and stains everywhere, and I also killed two bugs in my room. The hotel was fully gated. No place to take your dog to the bathroom.

When we got here I was pleasantly surprised that it’s gated and there is dedicated security. But upon arriving to the room, our room didn’t look like the pictures. The floor was dirty to the point it left black dust on the bottom of your feet, cockroaches in the bathroom, and the dog area is totally nonexistent. They don’t even have grass for them. They get dirt to do their business on and not a lot of it at that. Also many dog owners aren’t picking up after their pets so there’s a lot of dog poop everywhere. So basically there isn’t anyone to maintain the landscape as well. I wouldn’t come here if you have your fur babies or any baby at that.
