  Nice Yet Noisy

  The first glance upon walking in was good! The room had recently been upgraded. Until you get in the bed and realize the flophouse old mattress sagged/lumpy. And the bathroom was funky and not rehabbed like the front area. Also dirty towels were left in the bathroom which smelled like furniture polish. The towel hanging close by the bathroom sink had eye makeup soil marks. Yuk! The extra towels located in cubbies were new and clean. Really odd about the towels. Also up to midnight partiers were loud, drunk and disorderly for a good hour. Our dogs were confused and scared. This was nerve wracking 😓☹️

  There’s a nice dog park within a mile. We’d definitely stay here again.

  Clean and very spacious!

  Late check-in (after 10 pm) without any problems. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was clean - probably new flooring. Very spacious. Mini refrigerator was proper temperature. Room temperature was cool upon arrival. AC worked well and was average sound level. Good water pressure and temperature. Parking was fine. Vending and ice available on-site. Sign stated laundry was available at sister hotel next door (Vagabond Inn which offers free breakfast as well). Did not use the pool area. Did not observe anyone loitering. Did not see a great spot to let a pet relieve itself. Also, feral cats present. I stress the cleanliness and would recommend/stay again.

  Exactly what you expect from Motel 6

  The only dog "relief" area was a strip of gravel along the fence. When there were cars, you had to walk on that same gravel. UGH. I did find a dirt alley just south of the building. Also, they tried giving me a room on the 2nd floor. Not dog friendly -- especially for a 12 year old 90 pounder. Like most Motel 6 locations, it had laminate floors. Bring a bed or rug for the dog to sleep on.

  Violence at Motel 6

  I have never written a review even for places that seriously disappointed. I'm making an exception for this place. To make a long story short, the manager and a buddy of his were violently aggressive when I arrived at midnight and tried to check in after the reservationist promised a late check in would be no problem. When I arrived, there was an open window with a buzzer, I pushed it and heard it ring. No one answered.

  I then called the reservation number and told them of the situation. They escalated the call to a supervisor who then put me on hold to contact the motel manager. While on hold, I noticed the room next to the office, which I presumed was the manager's quarters had lights on and I could see through the blinds that there were a couple of people inside. I could hear them speaking loudly. While on hold for over 20 minutes, I then knocked on the manager's door in hopes they could speak with him to check me in. When the manager opened the door, he immediately begain yelling "why are you here? why are you here?" and then pointing to a sign (I did not see) that said the office closed at 10:00.

  Both the manager and his friend were clearly intoxicated as, I saw a numerous Corona beer bottles on the table inside the manager's quarters when he opened the door. He immediately became angry and ordered me off the property despite having a reservation. I immediately got into my vehicle when he slammed his fist into my window and then on my side mirror still screaming at me to leave, which I did immediately.

  Even after crossing the 4 lane highway and parking so I could see if there was another motel open, he and his friend crossed over to the other side and starting coming towards me. I immediately left. Several days later, after returning home, I get a call from a Bishop police officer investigating the manager's claim that I tried to run over him when trying to back off the motel's property. The officer had video from the motel of the incident and, I was told after answering his questions, that my version of what happened matched what he saw in the video. Additionally, the Motel 6 manager neglected to tell the officer that he and his friend left the property, crossed the highway, and tried to engage with me again. The conclusion being that the officer later called me back and he said that after looking at the video again and hearing my version, he would not be forwarding the investigation to the DA.

  I have been a loyal Motel 6 customer for many years and do lots of traveling. I have stayed at motel 6s due to their free pet policy as I have 2 dogs. However, As a retired individual on social security and a disabled vet on disability compensation, I will never spend one more dollar of my hard earned income at this, or any Motel 6 property ever again.

  Nice room, dog friendly

  Clean, and room as nice for an overnight stay. Our little Lily felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, other guests were smoking outside their rooms and parking was tight. Dogs aren't allowed to stay in room unattended which in unfortunate for those that are well behaved.

  Clean And Quiet

  Pet walk area was minimal- a skinny gravel strip next to the parking lot, but pet pick up bags were provided. Bed was rather firm but in line with the typical Motel 6. Pricey on the weekend.
