Motel 6 in Carpinteria was really way better than we expected. Very nice room and great front desk people! Would stay here again for sure!

I had really hoped for more, given that this is a touristy location. The exterior is good, in that there is a grassy area for your dog to relieve him/herself. The rooms were "mostly" clean. There are no amenities, unless you count a TV with no channel guide. The towels are small, and few. The microwave took forever to heat up a small amount of food. There was NO water pressure at all. The mattresses are old, thin and feel cheap. There is no box spring. It actually sits on a piece of pressed board. After a long road trip, this was really underwhelming, especially considering the room cost was $217. At that price, I would expect more, even from Motel 6. Overall, if you're beat and you need to rest, it will suffice. There are many restaurant options around.

I haven’t stayed at Motel 6 since I was little girl and it was a dump. This Motel 6 has its act together! No carpet keeps rooms clean. Rooms were updated. We were very impressed. And not charging extra for dog is fantastic. We will be staying with Motel 6 from now in with or without dog. Reminds me of Spirit Airlines. No frills just low price. No shampoo, hair dryer, but very clean! We are very picky too!

Motel 6 is clean hassle free choice for traveling with big dogs. No amenities but also no obstacles to a comfy stay. I always need to ask for extra blanket for myself. I like that there is no carpet.

Well, they do allow pets for no additional charge. The is about all I can say. $225/night for this level of accommodation is ridiculous, even by California standards. The rooms are small, with barely enough room to walk around the bed. Noisy air conditioning, outdated furnishings. Make sure you have everything you need, because the hotel does not supply anything. Can I get an extra pillow? Sorry, we don’t have any. How about some shampoo? Nope? A hair dryer? Forget about it. But there was a bed, a shower and a bathroom with a weird double door setup that almost closed. At least we were close to Santa Barbara and the beach, but next time I will pay the extra money for something nice.

OK, it's Motel 6 not the Ritz Carlton. You can't expect to be in the lap of luxury, but the price is definitely right. The room is fine, there is a place nearby for fido to potty, and you're a walk away from some very good pet-friendly restaurants.

A pleasant surprise! The room was immaculate and the location was within easy walking distance to Starbucks and ethnic restaurants. My pup had a nice, green area for business. Staff were very pleasant.
