It was my 8 lb dog's first time away. I wanted to be sure the room was clean. When I made a reservation, I requested that the room be clean. It was a rather updated room, looked good. I didn’t like some of the permanent residents who were sitting around. The next morning I found a small bug on the bedspread. Put it in a plastic bag and turned it in. I was bitten on the stomach, and my dog had bites also.

There are a couple of reasons I would not stay here. The reason we chose this hotel was because it was dog-friendly without an additional charge, but honestly wish I chose ANYWHERE else and paid extra. Here are the reasons I wouldn't stay here:
1. Our toilet was clogged for 12 hours. We called someone to help us and they decided to basically just throw a plunger in the room - we tried to unclog for 30 mins and still nothing. We called back and they came in with this huge machine and retrieved a syringe in the toilet (highly unsafe).
2. There are a couple of sketchy permanent residents there, so you need to be on the look out.
3. The towels were so so tiny...you had to chose which body part to cover when coming out of the shower.
4. We wanted to wash our towels for the next beach day, so we used their laundry (using our own quarters). We wanted to dry them after the washing machine and the machine took $5 of our money and still wasn't working. All we wanted was to dry our towels and the hotel told us to call the dryer company for a refund, which I thought was very unprofessional. So when we complained a second time, they told us we could wait for the manager to arrive the following morning to discuss the situation. Meanwhile, we still have wet towels for the beach? All we wanted was a refund, so we could try an additional time.The only positive thing was that the pool was very clean. I am very disappointed because it's a reasonably priced dog-friendly hotel located close to the Venice Beach Dog Park, but sadly we will not be visiting again. Do better Motel 6!!!

Very basic, clean motel. No hair dryers in rooms. Fine for one night. There are a few grassy areas on site and an outside trash can.

Called me an hour before check-in to tell me I couldn't have the smoking room I reserved bc someone extended their stay! Ok fine, but got two beds instead of a queen as well. Didn't say anything because we were just happy to get a room that allowed our dog. No shampoo in room, had to ask for it. Some shady people stay there, beware. But other than that, not much more to expect from motel 6. Don't forget to send my dog toy from my promocode!

Stayed 2 nights. Good sized room (124) wheelchair accessible which was great for our Doberman’s bed. Four stars because of low water pressure.
Some noise late at night (spring break) but staff deal with it quickly.
