  Good price with 2 dogs

  Not a fancy hotel but very convenient. Close to 95. Many good options. Had room 109 on 1st floor so easy to take dogs in and out. Room was clean but a little beat up. Traveling with 2 dogs can get expensive. We had a place next door wanted to charge $50 per pet. So we gave this a try. Clean, convenient, cost-effective for a quick stay while traveling. I would give it 4 bones and would stay again. Now with no dogs, probably not. But can’t beat it with pets for the price and location.

  This hotel let us stay with my whole gang for a reasonable price. The room was clean and tidy. Surprisingly quiet location, we all slept well. My gang got to stay for free.

  Clean and Quiet

  This was a clean and quiet Red Roof Inn. I’ve stayed at a few that weren’t! Price was right and easy to get to right off I-95.

  Good for quick overnight

  I have to admit I was a bit nervous about staying at our first Red Roof Inn, but I was pleasantly surprised. There is no dog fee, which is a huge plus for a quick one night stop. Price was very reasonable, room was basic but clean, staff was all friendly. They put us in a room right near a side entrance so we had easy access to take our pup in and out. A little noisy, but to be expected at a busy motel along I-95. Includes a very basic breakfast but still a nice perk considering the very affordable rates.

  Treated the dog okay

  First room had a non-working fridge (none of the fridges have a freezer). Second room had a non-working door, until front desk guy said to turn the handle up, not down. Didn't take a shower in the filthy tub. Single-handle faucet on sink was piped backwards (R=Hot, L=Cold). Heating system rattled loudly, episodically. I had to turn it off to sleep. Layers of visible dust on flat surfaces. On the plus side, the bed was fine. They were nice to the dog.

  Not bad for overnight rest

  Clean and quiet just a little outdated. No pet fee for my 5 pound chihuahua. I would stop there again.

  Well Priced Stay

  First, let me say that I'm grateful that there are dog friendly places to stay and to find one that doesn't charge extra for pets is a real find. The hotel and room was pretty clean and the rooms don't have carpeting, which is good IMO in case a pet has an accident. The staff was friendly. A good value for an overnighter with pets.

  Decent stay

  Room was clean. Bed was a bit soft, but that's a personal preference. A lot of live-in type guests or so it seems. TV was not working, and no help was given to remediate that. Rakas the newfoundland didn't mind a bit.

  Although the outside looked a little rough, our room was clean, the staff was friendly and breakfast was decent. We would stay here again.

  The room was clean and comfortable. Downside it was a bit small. The staff was helpful and very pleasant. Nice grass areas and plenty of restaurants around.

  Don’t choose a smoking room

  Thought I was making my spouse happy choosing a smoking room BUT big mistake. Smelled terrible, floor appeared grimy, back of tv had lots of dust, pool looked dirty. Two floors with no elevator, so if you have bad knees ask for a 1st floor room. Staff were very nice and helpful as were the patrons. I’m sure the side that was non-smoking would have been better.

  Nice room!

  Hotel was near some very nice restaurants (go to Logan's Steakhouse), and the room was modernized. "Breakfast" was a minimum attempt to serve something like that. We enjoyed the coffee, but skipped the carbs.

  Great location

  Very clean. Comfortable bed, great tv. Quick on and off 95 S! Lots of fast food choices and gas stations in immediate vicinity. Really good for our dogs 👍

  Stay away

  We stayed here because it received 5 stars. Are people blind? The place is OLD and outdated. Breakfast is minimal, at best. We certainly would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

  Gets the job done!

  I stopped here with my pup on our way back north from Florida. The staff was very kind and my room was clean! I know a lot of people complained about the smell of cleaning solution, while I could smell a little it wasn’t overpowering, and I rather smell cleaning solution over dog pee/poop. Will definitely stay here again!

  Good for the money!

  I’ve stayed here once before coming back and forth from NYC to Florida. Always a very friendly staff and easy check-in. I requested a non smoking room and the comforter had a cigarette burn on it, along with pee stains. Sooo gross! I tossed in on the floor right away! It’s always a comfy sleep after a long drive, but this time we had been by the back door and a lot of going in and out. Noisy, It’s perfect for a place to crash with your pups for under $100! Also, close to 95!

  Just what we wanted!

  The motel was just off the interstate, lots of places to eat, the staff was very accommodating and the rooms were nice. Everything we need for an overnight on the way to Florida, and the price was right!

  Great value for the price

  The hotel was located in a great shopping area. Plenty of restaurants fast food, gas stations/convenience stores. Hotel was easy to locate of the highway, very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, too. Offering coffee, juice, cereal, muffins, danish and fruit.

  Well, the shower worked

  There was a strong disinfectant smell throughout and the comforter was stained with something I don't want to think of as blood. Our 75 lb lab had a good night's sleep which is better than we did.

  Good place to stop when traveling with a pet. Clean good size room. Plenty of room outside for a nice walk.

  Really love this place, lots of fun people stay here, great amenities. All rooms are interior so even on 1st floor you're carrying all your dog stuff up & down the hall & over to your car.

  Yuck

  The room and towels smelled really musty. The floors didn't look clean. And we realized the back door entrance to the hotel was broken so anyone could get in and out of the hotel, and there was no one at the front desk! Scary! Do yourself a favor and skip this one!

  Room was nice and clean, somewhat dated, but fine for our one night stay. Only negative was lots of doors slamming and loud talking throughout the night. Overall good value for the price.

  Great location and priced right!

  Great location, friendly staff and priced right. I liked the non-carpeted floor. We did have a problem with our refrigerator, but not that wasn’t a big deal as we only stayed the one night. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

  Not So Good

  Made reservations here to break up the drive to the beach. Room seemed clean, bed seemed clean (did have small light stain on comforter) but the killer… when we opened the door they had the air set to 61 degrees!! I don’t know what the purpose of this was but totally not necessary and the room smelled like cleaner so bad it burnt your nose. The seemed clean but was slippery from the oily layer I assume was from cleaner. Plus if complained and got another room probably but I just turned the fan on and went to sleep. If I would have gotten a room that didn’t smell like cleaner so bad I prob would of rated 4 bones. Can’t speak of the shower. Just stopped to sleep and leave

  Good Road Trip Stop

  The rooms were clean, check in and check out quick and efficient, well located next to I-95 but not noisy, and no pet fee! We were passing through, not visiting Roanoke Rapids, so I cannot speak to if this is close to the rapids park, but I would definitely stay here again.

  Hidden Gem

  For a budget motel it was very nice. Room seemed recently updated. It was clean and quiet. My Pug also liked it. It was also walking distance to a convenience store and a couple of restaurants (Applebees). Great place for a stopover off of I-95. Will stay there again.

  Covid?

  Due to covid, the pool was not open nor was breakfast available....not even anything to go. But, no masks were required, so I feel as though they were not doing breakfast or the pool just to save money. The desk representative was very helpful and nice.

  The hotel was very dated. The water trickled out of the faucet. The bedspreads had stains on them. We checked in late at night and left early in the morning.

  Would have been nice to be told!

  We checked in for one night on our way home to FL from PA with a new puppy and our 2 large adult dogs. The desk clerk checked us in and advised that access to our room was through the lobby. Traveling with 3 days, including the puppy, we had to make several trips outside for potty breaks overnight, each time having to go down the long hallway through the lobby. Finally, the morning we were leaving, I mentioned to my husband that there was an exit door much closer to our room, and wondered why we couldn't use it. He checked and was told yes, we could have used that door. WHY DIDN'T THE CLERK LET US KNOW THAT UPON CHECK IN?? Would have saved SO many steps, especially carrying a nearly 20 pound puppy who was being carried to avoid picking up parvo or any other virus, since not yet fully vaccinated!! Guess the conversation between co-workers at the front desk upon our arrival was more important!

  This place is very convenient to stay in. I have it 4 stars because it’s very pet friendly, but that’s all it has going for it. The accommodations are basic and no frills. The beds and TV are showing signs of age as is the hotel. It’s clean, just old and worn.

  Our stay at the Red Roof Inn, Roanoke Rapids, exceeded our expectations. Hallways and rooms were very clean. The location suited us with good restaurants nearby. We’ve never stayed at a Red Roof Inn but traveling with our puppy, we decided to give it a try. We will always seek out this franchise for future travels. We give it 5 ⭐️!

  Did not give it 5 bones only because parking lot has only one way in and out and we came in on a dark rainy night and missed the turn and had to circle around and we were towing a huge trailer

  This property was okay, not great but not terrible either. Our room was clean and no frills but the price was reasonable and no dog fee. The hotel sits on this huge unattractive parking lot, but is within walking distance to several restaurants which was a plus after six hours of driving.

  Bed Bugs

  Stayed here for the night after a long 13 hour day, boy was that a mistake. My partner and I both ended up with hundreds of bed bug bites all over our legs and feet. We didn’t stay anywhere else so we can track it back to that Red Roof Inn. I suggest checking the mattress VERY carefully if you stay there.

  Very pet friendly

  Location and clientele were what you expect for a budget hotel, but there was adequate outdoor walking space for our dog, the room itself was clean and comfortable, and although the Roanoke Rapid Canal Trail is now closed to pets our dog (and us) had a great time exploring Mount Medoc state park just 25 minutes south.
