  Great place to stop

  This is the second time I’ve stopped here. They are undergoing renovations so it’s going to be even better. Staff is very friendly and the place is quiet and clean. There is an area for pet relief and ample parking. Right off the highway and convenient. This is my once a year place to stop and will continue to be. They are great about animals and it is appreciated.

  Disappointed

  I booked this room based on BF reviews. I was disappointed. The elevator was being re-floored and was shut down when we were wanted to leave in the morning, necessitating carrying luggage down 3 flights of stairs. The door to the room was so ill-fitting we could use the light around it as a nightlight. We expected the room to be basic, but this was very basic. Evidently tissues are a luxury item. All dogs seemed to be clustered together on the same floor. Anytime we walked in the hall, there was a chorus of barking from other rooms. On the plus side, the person at the front desk was polite. There was plenty of parking that was well-lit, and there was plenty of grassy area for dogs to use. They don’t charge a fee for pets.

  This Motel 6 felt more like a hotel. It’s basic no frills but clean with friendly staff. Bedroom was clean. Sheets torn but I think now that might be because the sheets don’t fit on the mattress so by tearing the corner of the sheet it could be forced onto the bed. And toilet struggled to flush. Aside from the torn sheets and toilet issues, it was clean. The mattress was firm but comfortable and my dog was comfortable within the room.

  Clean, low budget

  The hotel was clean and felt save for my night's stay, which was all I wanted. The single small bar of soap and the lack of wash clothes were signs of low budget.

  Great option for a Motel 6!!

  Considering this was a Motel 6, I was very pleasantly surprised when we pulled up! The lobby was small but they were super nice and the room was pretty big and somewhat clean. The toilet wasn't flushed when we got there but besides that I didn't notice any red flags.

  Room was very clean. The only complaint was the air conditioner compressor was very loud. Install some noise dampening on it. Thank you.

  Nice Place

  The rooms are basic with no frills. More importantly it was very clean and quiet. Employees and guests were all friendly. Great area with lots of good restaurants within 2 blocks. Will stay there again.

  We were late getting there but the place was just what we needed! After 14 hours of driving in the storms, all we wanted was a good bed and pet-friendly room! Clean and good location!

  Cash deposit on arrival

  We booked a room here for New Year's Eve so we could avoid driving home, almost an hour away after midnight. Upon arrival the man behind the desk asked for my ID and tells me he won't check us in without a $100 cash deposit. When I asked what for he said with a bit of an attitude, we lived too close so have to pay. I told him I didn't have it in cash and wouldn't pay anyway to which he said no room. We called BringFido and they called the motel and were told the same, so they cancelled all the rest of the transaction.

  Right off the highway. Super comfy beds and charged no pet fee. Nicest Motel 6 we’ve been in yet.

  Simple and clean

  My dog and I had a great stay at this Motel 6 on our way down route 81. There's nothing fancy about the accommodations, of course, but the room was clean, the check-in process was easy, and for being so close to the highway, it was pretty quiet! Perfect for a quick overnight stop. There was plenty of grass outside the hotel for my dog to relieve himself, as well as a "doggie bag" station. There are a bunch of restaurants and stores within walking distance (though there isn't a sidewalk along the road, so depending on the time of day and busyness of traffic, you may choose to drive 2 minutes). I'll choose to stay here again next time I'm passing through.

  Perfect Place

  While I think that pet people should be put on the first floor for ease of taking the animals outside, THIS Motel 6 is actually a smaller, more easily navigated space, so it wasn't so bad. We had laminate wood floors, so I imagine that all pet rooms are the same for ease of cleaning. I'm glad I brought my dogs bed in with us though. Hotel is located near shopping and restaurants, which was a PLUS and also closely located to Bristol for ease of visiting. There is grass nearby for pooch to visit... don't forget your own baggies for clean up. Very friendly people run the place.

  Minimal, Unfinished, but okay

  The room seemed spacious and clean at first.... But then we realized that it lacked lighting, There are 3 wall lights, and some uplighting on the back of the bed. It's just not enough.
  Our dog spilled water, so I got a towel to clean it up - oh my, was the floor dirty! We wore socks after that. The other thing Ii noticed was a missing outlet cover. Maybe our room wasn't quite finished from an update?

  It didn't keep us from stopping again on the way back from our trip. We had a different room. Same as far as lighting. Floors were cleaner, but there was something left in the freezer from a previous person, and the fridge could use a cleaning.
  Overall, average, but I would stay again based on the price.

  Granted it was a lot more expensive for race weekend, I’d have to assume I’d have received the same style and condition of room I received at a much lower price. If that’s the case, which I’m sure it is, this place is great and not what I’d have expected for a Motel 6.

  Nice hotel... but

  The hotel is very clean, well maintained and dog accommodations were good. But the hotel is very anemic in the little things that make hotels "homey". No shampoo/conditioner, no coffee in the room, no art on the walls, no hair dryer. Plain vanilla at its best. But a good price.

  Great value for the price

  This hotel was an easy off from I-81 and convenient to several restaurants. I found it to be a great value for the price and they allowed me to bring both my cat and dog. The room floors could have been dust mopped a little better and you can tell the bathrooms are older, but for the money it can’t be great.

  Nice room quiet and close to the interstate. The floors are vinyl plank which super nice. Our pup had anxiety issues this trip and with clean solid floors, she didn’t spend her evening sniffing the floor.

  Bristol, VA Motel 6

  Nice visit, pet friendly staff. We left our "do not disturb" sign on the door for our 5 day visit, but staff was very responsive when asked questions, etc. Some barking by other dogs, but usually just as you walked by the door. Glad our girl isn't a barker. I recommend this Motel 6 and will stay at others as we travel.

  Good Location and Clean Rooms

  The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. No coffee pot or complimentary shampoo, but perfectly OK with us, since we never travel without a coffee maker and I prefer to use my own shampoo. There's a large grassy area for pups to take care of business. We will definitely stay there any time we are going to or through Bristol. Can't beat it for the price!

  The dogs were allowed Inside but that’s about it. We were not given ground floor preference like other places and there was a dank, old feeling about the place. Choose only if your options are limited. Normally, I barely make the check out time, but for this place, I left as soon as I woke up.

  Nice stay with dog

  This was an overnight stay, driving from New York to North Carolina. It’s just off route 81. The non-smoking “dog” rooms are on the third floor. The room was clean, had a refrigerator, microwave, was clean, & had the basic amenities. It was quiet. I had no problems using the stairs to take my dog outside to go “do his business”. They also have an elevator. There are all kinds of restaurants, within a short distance to grab some food. Coffee is free in the lobby, no food other than vending machine. I would stay here again. Great price for a dog friendly motel.

  Easy On/Off to I-81. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. The room was adequate. We have been here several times. The staff is always friendly. We have been here several times and will continue to return.

  Very Satisfied

  This is my go-to stay when I come into town to visit my family. The rooms are always clean and I love that there is no nasty carpet in the rooms, especially with pets being allowed. I have stayed both on the third floor and on the first floor. No complaints from me or my 100 lb Copper dog!

  Terrible Hotel

  Unfriendly Staff in the morning , just stared at me when I asked for a receipt and refused to make coffee for my early departure. Room had old appliances and TV remote was taped together and didn’t work and the only floor for dogs was the 3rd Floor , not convenient at all to walk you dog ! By the way it was kept up I would bet it is either Asian or Indian owned.
  Motel 6 should monitor their franchise’s better they are bringing their brand down by allowing these kinds of places to carry their name.
