The wife and I (and Frank, our Frenchie) searched for the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and we found it here at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek. The owner called a few days prior to our arrival to check if there were any requests. Check in was super easy and contactless. Our room, Pacific View, was perfect. There was a welcome letter for us and the dog, and the dog had a bed, sheet, towel, frisbee, and poop bag holder w/ bags waiting for him. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone and their pet!
- HollyNov. 14, 2020Great dog location and launching point for excursions
Posey and I spent a week at the Inn at Schoolshouse Creek and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We loved our cottage (Tansy) and its fenced backyard that allowed Posey some freedom as well as the dog meadow which was fantastic for shagging balls (and a pretty sunset). We also used the dog wash station a couple times because Posey got a bit sandy. The location is great to explore the area. We hiked the bluffs in Mendocino as well as in Fort Bragg and went to the off leash beaches (loved Seaside beach - 10 minutes past Fort Bragg), went to Albion, Point Arena and Philo from here. As for Covid - it was very clean, everyone wearing masks and we either sat outside or did take out at local restaurants and brought it back to our cottage. Great relaxing week and we look forward to coming back!

This is probably one of the most dog-friendly places we have stayed. We got a wonderful welcome package of treats, a frisbee, and poop-bags. They provided bowls, dog bed, and dog towels. The property is amazing, with a field for dogs to play on. Great location, nice loft, amazing views, and a wonderful staff. Oh and they do a great job making the humans feel welcome too! They also took excellent COVID precautions. We're looking forward to our next stay!

We booked a room here at the last minute, hoping for a quick weekend getaway with our dog and WOW, do they make it comfy for you AND your pets! We have stayed in other "pet-friendly" hotels, but the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek provided a dog bed, food/water bowls, treats, waste bags...all we had to bring was food! Amazing place, very communicative host - we will definitely be coming back!

A charming inn on a beautiful Mendocino coast property. We received a warm, personal welcome from the innkeeper, a half bottle of wine and information about local activities and restaurants. Our pup was provided with a bed, water and food bowls, a frisbee and his own welcome
letter. Cypress Cottage has a small, fenced yard with an ocean view, a fireplace and kitchenette. The management is doing an extraordinary job of keeping guests and staff safe in light of the COVID crisis. We will definitely be back! Thanks Martin and staff! - KatieJan. 20, 2020Perfect for dogs!!!
We were welcomed with a hand written note and a half bottle of wine, which was a pleasant surprise. The manager was really friendly, professional, and helpful. We were given information about how to get to Buckhorn Cove, which is walking distance from the inn. He also provided other helpful information about the area. The inn is only 3 miles from downtown Mendocino so it is close to everything.
We stayed in the Water Tower Cottage for two nights. This is an amazing cottage that has a private hot tub and a deck on top of the water tower with views of the ocean. This cottage was really relaxing and the enclosed area was perfect for our dog and provided privacy. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and the fireplace in the room helped stay warm and to relax.
This place is perfect for dogs. There is Buckhorn Cove within walking distance, which you can take your dog off leash at. They provided a fluffy dog bed, treats, a sheet, a towel, and a frisbee. The frisbee you can even keep. Our dog never used the crate since she preferred the dog bed that was provided. They have a dog wash area and a dog exercise meadow as well.
We really enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back!

We had a late arrival check-in and only stayed one night, although I wished we had stayed longer. There was a doggie Arrival Package awaiting our pup in the cottage as well a small bottle of wine for us. We stayed in the garden cottage which was right next to the doggie meadow with a private porch. It was very quiet and quaint with a beautiful morning view of the coast from the observation deck. Our pup loved the private deck as much as we did. They we very accommodating and respectful.

Wonderful staff. Charming, well-maintained buildings on beautiful grounds. The cottages and rooms are so cute and there are cozy spots all around the property for relaxing -- with people or pooches. The beautiful gardens, roses and lawns back against the forest and offer ocean views. Our room came with beds, towels, and sheets just for the dogs, plus treats and poop bags. The absolutely delicious restaurant, Circa '62, has a cute patio where you can dine with your dog, or even take him inside. The most fun is that you can order steak and eggs for your dogs from their special dog menu! I'd definitely stay again, with or without my dogs, because it's such a nice little spot.
