  The front desk was very nice. The room was clean and quiet. There is Shopping nearby. I would stay here again!

  Comfortable room

  Very nice room with comfortable king bed. Bathroom was very clean with plenty of hot water. Very quiet on our dog-friendly floor.

  Enjoyed our stay

  This is a no smoking hotel and it was extremely clean. The pet relief area was nice and large, and the hotel isn’t on a main road so it’s nice and quiet for the dogs to walk in peace. We stayed here during the Bush Jazzy Paws dog sports event.

  Would stay again

  Were surprised rooms did not have phones in the room, they said the phone system was taken out by a hurricane and they were contracting them to be replaced. There was no shampoo or soap samples in the bathroom, said new maid must of forgot. Brought them to us. Waffle batter was very watered down could not cook a waffle to eat. Complained about the batter being water downed, replaced with a new batch, cooked waffle fine with that. Continental breakfast was limited but hotel rate is very reasonable. Big dogs allowed with only a $25 a night fee. Staff was very nice and resolved complaints. The bed was on a platform, when my 110 lb dog jumped off it, the bed tipped up. Have never had that happen before. I would definitely stay there again, great value. Has dog park, provides bags to clean up after dog does his business.

  Great location, AC an issue

  Great location near shopping, some dining and gas. Place is worn and AC didn’t work well. It was cold that night and room was hot and stuffy. Hotel needs a renovation, it was empty. Across the street is a newer Candlewood Suites that is pet friendly that looks to be better option.

  Love this hotel

  Planned a last minute trip to New Orleans. Check-in was easy, sign a paper that you will be a responsible pet owner pay the $25 fee and your done. The staff is excellent, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, rollaway $10. Dog walking area is clean, well lit and safe. I will stay there again.

  The room & breakfast were good. Pet area wasn’t large, but definitely sufficient. Would stay there again.

  Good stay

  This property is nestled among several other motel so there was plenty of "safe" areas for early morning and late night dog walking. They did have a relatively large grassy area for dogs behind the building which we did not use as it was just after a huge rain storm so it was very wet. The hotel itself is old, but clean and fresh. Breakfast selection was great. A good value.

  Avoid if possible

  Very outdated and dirty. Room was cleaner, but the common areas needed serious attention. Unfortunate, had a great stay at a La Quinta in Holbrook, AZ. Slidell location is in desperate need of corporate intervention.

  Very quiet

  Hotel needs freshening and renovating. Lots of exterior lights were not working. Bed was uncomfortable. Smell of cigarette smoke was very strong in our bathroom so we had to keep that door closed and put a towel under the door. The front desk was a dark area and not welcoming. Parking lot was pretty empty while hotels next door were full. But if you want a really quiet stay, this is a good place.

  Quiet. It's among several hotels on a dead-end street. Safe place for walking dog. Room was excellent. Full breakfast was excellent.

  The room was clean and the bed comfortable but the air conditioner didn’t work that great. Didn’t bother the dogs at all 😂

  The staff came banging on my door at 10:30a.m., asking if I needed any services, when I clearly had the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. Check out was not until noon and I had planned to sleep until closer to that time.

  Great place

  We regularly stay here with our dogs because it offers clean, secure , well located facilities. Our pets are welcomed and we can usually get a first-floor room. The furniture is very comfortable and always immaculate. The staff are friendly. The breakfasts offer a wide selection of fruits, eggs, sausage, sweet rolls, cereals etc. Lots of coffee and juices. Pet stations on property. Value priced even with $20 pet fee. Best place in the area.

  Decent place, probably just a bad night

  It happened to be Memorial weekend and the hotel was fully booked. Walk-ins were being turned away due to no vacancy and the phone was ringing nonstop with the front desk saying there were no vacancies from Texas to Florida. I had booked my room the night before, so I checked in and went to my room…the bedsheets were in disarray and the tv was on…I thought someone might still be in there, so I quickly shut the door and went back to the desk. She said nobody was there but the room hasn’t been cleaned yet (this was at 11pm). She was the only one at the desk and mentioned that in addition to being fully booked, her partner called in sick…so she was working alone (and she was working her tail off…I really felt bad for her). She gave me a new room. When we opened that door, the horrible musty smell hit us hard. It smelled like moldy pet urine and it was humid in there. I did notice this ground level room was directly next to the pool. It was very difficult to get used to that smell but at this point we were just so tired and I didn’t want to add another issue to that poor gal at the front desk as I was certain we wouldn’t have another room choice so we just went to bed. Everything else at the hotel was fine and it was pet friendly. I feel like this could’ve been a better experience if we weren’t put in that smelly room, so I don’t want to be too harsh. I would give this hotel another try.

  Ok but not excellent

  Problem number 1: Carpet was ripped and I tripped and about busted my face when my heel caught; Problem 2: a/c kept turning off and it was hot in the room even when set on 65; Problem 3: sheet kept coming off the mattress which is a hygiene issue since this means others have slept on the same bare mattress that is not washed.

  Would not recommend to stay here again.

  Great, except for pandemic

  I would've given this 5 bones if not for all staff walking around completely unmasked (I saw one non-nose covered attempt, once, the rest didn't even bother). The room was nice, the beds comfy, the first floor is very convenient to the pet area, and my pup didn't hear any hotel noises that kept her or us up. Ultimately I just wore my KN95 mask everywhere, but it's still disheartening that folks won't do something so simple to protect others.

  Very friendly staff, clean rooms, safe area. The manager was outside the breakfast area as we got our food. As we did, my oldest came in from walking the dog and we switched so she could get her food. He not only complemented our puppy but he was very knowledgeable about her breed. He made us feel very welcome!

  Great stay, friendly staff. Our cats and geckos had a great night. Helpful when we needed jump start. Wish they'd all been masked, though.

  Still consistent. Traveling with 2 labs and 2 people rooms are clean, large and well appointed. Desk staff was terrific. Enough walking space to get the car kinks out of everyone .

  Out of The Two LQ’ Pick THIS ONE

  Spotless and everything is updated. (See my photos below.) We stay with our handicapped doxie and we love it. Great pet walking area and the staff is the best!

  Max always loves stopping here.

  Great La Quinta, where our pup is welcomed as much as we are. Clean and well managed. Belinda is terrific at the front desk and gives Max lots of attention. WIsh other dog owners were as good at picking up after their pets around the property as we are. Nice sidewalks to stroll on and a large grassy area on the side of Sam's Club next door where you can throw a ball or frisbee. We've been here four times now and will continue to stay in the future.

  Very rundown

  We stay in La Quintas quite often when we travel because of their great pet policy. Although they certainly aren’t luxury resorts, they are always clean and well maintained. The Slidell property is our first negative La Quinta experience. It is quite rundown with dirty, worn furniture in the rooms; small inadequate bathrooms; dirty, worn carpets and chipped paint everywhere.

  Weary traveler's Angels

  We had gotten trapped behind a wreck for 6 hours. I called BringFido concierge. Through them, this hotel not only let us early check in at 7am on Friday. They made our check out at 11am on Saturday. They offered us breakfast for both mornings. The room was immaculately clean. My 3 australian shepherds were right at home and comfortable. Everything you could hope for and more! I never would have expected it all to come to $100.00. Amazing, they'll have my business for life!!!
