    Embarcadero in Morro Bay

Older hotel on the Embarcadero. Nice welcome gifts, but no place on the property for dogs to relieve themselves. When I asked about where I could take them, the front desk clerk just said anywhere there is dirt, then suggested I go to the end of the strip of buildings. That turned out to be private property, so I walked further. Probably OK for small dogs, but when you need to walk them late at night or early in the morning, not so great. I am a senior woman traveling alone.

    Super Friendly

Great location, super duper dog friendly, cute as heck, small room but comfy, surprisingly quiet and all around very satisfying. We would stay again with our 2 dogs.

Great for 2 people and a small or medium dog

The good: it is very dog friendly with very cute outdoor seating spaces (Great to watch sunsets or eat your takeout). The doggy treat bag and water and food bowl are a great touch.

The bad: the indoor space is very small and cramped especially if you have a large dog. They only allow 2 adults and a child under 3, which wasn’t clear when we booked on BringFido, so we ended up having to pay for an extra room as we were traveling with our 10 year old.

    Definitely Dog Friendly

Milo was welcomed to this location and they were happy for him to stay in the room alone as long as he was crated and not barking. They do offer dog sitting services here also if you have a needy pooch. There is an off leash dog beach just a few miles up the road too which made this the perfect trip with Fido.

Our stay at the Bayfront Inn T the Waterfront was very enjoyable. Our little dog loved her doggie bag of treats. We enjoyed the fine and free cinnamon rolls each morning. I would highly recommend staying here the next time you are in Morro Bay.

This is a cute, very dog friendly motel

We enjoyed our stay here. The establishment is very pet friendly. The rooms are small and few have a view of the harbor or it would have gotten 5 bones

    Dog Friendly And Perfect Location

A nice, clean and quiet no frills inn by the Morro Bay Harbor. Super dog friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make us and our pup feel welcomed. Will definitely stay here again.

    Socks loved it!

And we agree with him; it's absolutely great. An older facility but very well maintained and impeccably clean. Rooms are small (typical of the era when it was built) but comfy. They are *very* pet friendly with water and food bowls in the room, as well as a bag with treats. And you can't beat the location -- otters frolicking by the docks across the street, great seafood and a park just a few minutes' walk away. We will *definitely* stay there again.

    Always my favorite

The rooms are small, but when your at the beach with the dogs all day, size doesn't matter. The staff are wonderful, and always make our stay pleasant. I recommend bringing bottled water though as the pipes are very old and could use an update. Great location, best price in town for pet friendly, I recommend to always try to book here.

    Felt at home.

I stayed there Oct. 10, 2017 and I felt at home. Very comfortable, great view and the staff was extremely friendly. Bed and pillows where great, my 4 legged kids liked there stay too. Bathroom shower a little small but overall I can't complaint. I plan on going back to Morro Bay Next Year and only want to stay at Bayfront Inn. It's home away from home. Thank you to all of the staff.

    Comfortable Stay

We didn’t know what to expect, seen it many times but thought it would be TOO Expensive, being so close to Restaurants and Shopping. Friends of ours, recommended it they also have dogs. This location was Excellent, upon arrival we received coupons:

2 Free homemade Cinnamon buns were a treat – Frankie & Lola’s, right next door, was the perfect place to grab breakfast on our back to Fresno... PLUS a

Free 5 piece Fish & Chips meal from Giovanni’s was too good to believe

Pathway for an easy Walk with the Humans, to the other side of the ROCK

Blankets, Treats, Toys…. What more can we possibly ask for?

We will definitely will be back!

    Stella, Frankie & Lucy

    Dog Culture Celebrated

When we want to beat the heat, Morro Bay is our choice. Almost every shop lets us bring our mini Aussie in with us and the Bay Front Inn is no exception. In fact, where some of the other hotels were pet friendly, the Bay Front celebrates pets. Kipling got a treat bag with a blanket, toy, and U.S. made treats. He also had dishes put out for him and it made us feel completely welcome as a family unit. The owners are personable and friendly and are always looking for ways to brighten the hotel. They have sitting areas with brightly colored Adirondack style chairs that were perfectly placed for watching the sun set over Morro Bay as well as watching the town wake up in the morning while you have your hot cinnamon roll and cup of coffee. They have Keurig coffee makers in the rooms, so if you have a preferred K cup blend, bring it, or just use what they have in the room.

They have everything you would expect in a hotel, but in a smaller package, which is in keeping with the rest of the town. The perks include a free cinnamon roll from Frankie and Lola's, 5 piece Fish and Chips at Giovanni's (get there early, like 11:00 to beat the lunch rush), and wine tasting at Morro Bay Wine Seller. They had the goodie bag for Kipling, but also a goodie bag for the humans that included taffy and chocolate bars.

Our experience with this hotel goes back to the time when the current owners had just purchased the hotel and they have always had a "pet friendly" policy, but I think it goes much deeper than just being pet friendly. They seem to understand how our dogs become part of our family unit and are made to feel as welcome as they would be if they were human children.

Small eclectic hotel right on the embarcadero

My wife and I, along with our Greyhounds, have stayed at this very dog friendly hotel several times and although the rooms are small the friendliness of the staff and owner comes through. We try to book the largest room on the first floor so our hounds have room to lay on their large pillows. That room would be #9 as the dog friendly room. The amenities are as you would expect and the breakfast is quite adequate with waffles, toast, fruits, juices, coffee, rolls, cereal, and breakfast sandwiches you can heat in the microwave. Also included every morning are fresh baked cinnamon rolls from the small restaurant located in front of the hotel. They have the best fried green tomatoes, too.

If you have dogs, each one gets a blanket to use, bowls for food, treats, and a small toy that they can keep. There is a one-time fee of $30 to cover any doggie "accidents" or damages, if that were to happen.

The hotel runs specials all year around, the latest we used was 10% off the daily rate and if you were a redhead, and my wife is, $5 was taken off the total bill. (They said that if you wore a red wig you could get the $5 off too. :) ) The hotel is within walking distance of the "rock" and a nice large beach that is dog friendly as well (Must be on lease). There are several "freebies" included with your stay like a free 5 piece fish 'n' chips from a local restaurant, ice cream, even a wine tasting of sorts. Best thing is that you are right on the embarcadero and can walk its length easily. At the south end of the walk is a nice park with a kiddie play area and benches to sit on and look out at the harbor. We have always enjoyed our stay here and if you don't have to have a large room with all the upscale amenities, this little gem should suit you and your furry critters' needs.

Room Tip: Most upper rooms have a clear view of Morro rock and the harbor.

Great place to stay with Pets

This is the BEST pet friendly hotel in town hands down. We have stayed here many times with 3 small dogs and it's always been top notch. I love that they give you dogs toys and treats and you can't beat the location and view of the rock. I HIGHLY recommend this place and will be back!!!

We love this place and Morro Bay

We are frequent visitors to the Morro Bay area; it's a quick trip from Santa Barbara. Always on the search for something different we decided to try this place. Basically what we need is someplace to sleep and allows our Beagle. Whenever we visit we stash our gear and head to the rock then walk up and down the Embarcadero. Then we drive over to the Jody Gianni Family Dog Park. It is a wonderful off-leash fenced dog park and allows Wrigley to burn off all the Beagle energy. The "treats" in the room were unexpected and much appreciated. Thanks!!

    Way above expectations !!!!

I'm not a review type person, if my stay was substandard I feel you should know. This case if off the opposite end of the scale......my husband Ronnie and myself shelli, have never felt so welcome and comfortable. We were traveling" with two mini Aussies, Bacardi and Dacquiri. This hotel made all 4 of us feel like this was our home away from home. The personal touches such as ,complimentary cinnamon rolls from bakery next door, dog bowls, bottled water, USA made dog treats , free icecreamscoop after a free fish n chips dinner . Strolling the docks and pier across street for free meal and desert with our two 4legged kids, which were welcomed as readily as they were at the Bayfront Inn. This quiet small oceanfront community of morro bay, is very pet friendly, and the staff at the bay front inn a cut above the rest. The pristine accommodations , cater to our four legged kids, the staff is extremely helpful . Even if you stay one night or a month....THE BAYFRONT INN won't let you down. We are plotting our next BAYFRONT INN getaway, and we haven't been home an hour. We will definately be back, and will b bypassing pismo rat race.....BAYFRONT AT MORRO BAY IS A SECRET TO BE RESPECTED AND CHERISHED....RIFF RAFF NEED NOT APPLY.....THIS HOTEL IS TO BE EARNED...NOT ABUSED,, ,,,, INTERESTED PARTIES TAKE HEED

    We Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else

Thanks so much for yet another wonderful stay at the Bayfront Inn. Being able to bring

    small, cozy and clean

The rooms are European style, which means small. There is a sign in the bathroom suggesting we be easy on "these old pipes." Small, but clean. Old--not historic! - but close to everything and some rooms had a great view. Andy was greeted with a bag of treats, a feeding mat, a toy and tiny red blanket. Water and food bowls were in the bathroom. It was comfortable and friendly. Even quiet. Pet friendly places can be wildly expensive but Bayfront is not. It's relaxing and there are lots of harborside areas for walks..

    Very happy with our visit!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights/3 days with our dachshunds Oscar and Maya. The front desk manager was wonderful and wrote notes on the city map showing us all of the dog friendly restaurants, dog beach, dog parks etc. the hotel location is within walking distance to so many activities and great places to walk our dogs. Our dogs loved the welcome. Asker with dog toys, dog treats and dog blankets. The rooms are small but we were informed of this before we booked the room. The "pet fee" is a one time fee and not a per night fee like most places charge. Overall, it was a wonderful get away, a great value and we will return!

    Enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bayfront last week. Our dog was very relaxed and happy. It's exactly as advertised, small, quiet, very clean and close to the Morro Bay shops and restaurants and a great view of the Bay. We plan to stay here again on our next trip to Morro Bay.

    Great location, perfect for pets

Our experience at Bayfront was completely different than the negative review. The room was perfect for a short stay, with treats, dog bowl, pet blanket all ready. The mgr/owner was friendly and the whole experience was exactly what we hoped. This is not a luxury spot, but doesn't pretend to be - a clean room, walking distance to restaurants, wharves, field for dogs to do their business and a excellent price.

    Small but great location

The rooms are TINY but the property is across the street from the harbor and within walking distance of several restaraunts that have pet friendly patios and a short drive from an off leash dog beach. Our dog was greeted with a bag of treats and there were bowls and a blanket in the room for him. the free wi-fi was nice for us non-dogs! Looking forward to a morning jog with the dog along the water front :)
