    Description

    Silver Pines Lodge was built in 1923 and was originally used to build rustic furniture for mountain settlers. In the 1930s, it operated as the Rustic Tavern Restaurant and the Rustic Theater movie house in 1944. It has been an Inn since the early 1950s and has hosted hundreds of mountain guests for the past 43 years. The Lodge has its own Koi pond and sits on 1-1/2 acres of wooded pine forest overlooking Strawberry Creek. The Lodge is approximately 2 blocks from the main village of Idyllwild where eateries and shops abound. Each unit is individually decorated and has its own unique identity. Most rooms have fireplaces and about half have kitchens. Silver Pines also has individual pet-friendly cabins, a duplex and triplex and 5 units connected to the main lodge building. Every room has its own refrigerator, bathroom, color cable TV and complimentary coffee.

      Lovely place to stay

      I chose the Silver Pines Lodge for my 75 lb dog's two-night birthday outing, because some of the cabins are right next to Strawberry Creek. The facility itself has a wonderful koi pond, if you stay in the cabins comprising Silver Pines Lodge. When we were there in mid-March, the second day had rain, which filled the creek and produced the wonderful sound of running river water that i wanted. We stayed in Cat Nap, right on the creek's banks. A very charming small unit, nicely redecorated. Be aware that the cabins are old, so be ready for less than 5 star modern facilities. However, everything was clean and adequate, and a very good value for the money. The owner Chris couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. All the art work in this cabin are cat-oriented and delightful. Also, the Lodge is perfectly located for walking into the heart of Idyllwild, shopping and eating. Only used the car to get out to trailheads. Very dog-friendly town and very dog-friendly lodge. Looking forward to coming here again!
