Nice hotel. Quiet but a little old. It's a weird set-up because people with pets stay in the "side hotel" which is right next door. It's fine except you need to walk up to the main hotel for the morning coffee and their breakfast, which is pretty lame. We stayed there before and would stay again.

We are driving from NH to FL and this was a very convenient stop just off the highway. The staff were very friendly and got us checked in fast. The room was clean and had no smells. The bed was very comfortable and even though you were close to the highway we couldn't hear the traffic. The room was up to date and we were on the first floor and we parked in front of our room. Cracker Barrel was right next door so we could walk to dinner. We will definitely stop here again on our way back to NH.

Good experience for the level of hotel. $15 total pet fee for all dogs (2). Clean room. Nice/adequate free breakfast. A little bit of a hike to our room (2nd floor) but no complaints. Staff was friendly and mentioned BringFido was a great service with local reservation makers.

Not sure if there was something special going on the night I stayed, but it ended up being $150 for one night BEFORE the $15 pet fee. The hotel refused to match the $110 price quoted on BringFido. On top of that, the room was dirty - dog hair from a previous dog on the blankets. The blackout blinds on the windows wouldn’t shut all the way, leaving a good 2-3 feet of window only blocked by sheer curtains, letting the street lamp in and anyone could see into the room. The tv was also busted, half the screen was messed up. I would’ve expected better than this for $75, much less $150+. Only semi-redeeming factor was the front desk guy was nice. I didn’t bother trying the breakfast, I had been let down enough already.

Was disappointing to arrive to check in and the first words out of the front desk person's mouth was "dogs are not allowed in lobby." This hotel may allow dogs in room but is not very dog friendly. Also, desk clerk charged me dog fee (expected) but when I asked for receipt the next morning it was not listed on my folio. Rather I was told my folio was marked as service dog and no fee had been charged. After much discussion and insistence on my part, I was emailed a receipt for the charge. Room itself was clean.

This is a nice, comfortable hotel with a large grassy area for dogs to run and expend extra energy after a day in the car. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the desk person (Byron) was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was very satisfactory. I’ll plan to stay here again.

Was given room on first floor as requested. Room door opened directly to outside. Handicapped parking was conveniently just outside my room. Breakfast was standard motel fare and well stocked. Room and dining area were clean. Bed comfortable. Front desk personnel were helpful, available, and cordial. Well priced.
Room had carpet rather than vinyl floor. Minimal sloping grassy area on other side of parking lot. Older motel (from another generation) was pleasantly homey but could do with some upgrading and refurbishing. Would I stay here again? Yes, if traveling on I-81 and needed a place to stay in the Roanoke area.

Room was clean and quiet. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Courtesy breakfast was fresh and delicious. Property condition is good, what one should expect at this price. No separate dog walking area; we had to hunt a bit for an appropriate place to let the dog poop. No courtesy bags provided. This property overlooks the freeway exit, but our room was located on the side facing away from the highway and was quiet.

No complaints other than other dog owners who don't pick up the poop in the designated pooping spots. Clean, breakfast was fine, staff were pleasant. The only negative, to only give 4 bones, is that the hotel is so close to the road that the road noise kept me up all night, but that's me. The hotel experience other than that would generate 5 bones.

Good grassy areas for walking and liked the exterior access to the room. We liked the door opening to outside because the dog is less disturbed by hallway noise and this was one of the safer feeling ones we’ve stayed at. That said, it’s older and shows its age. Noise from interstate was somewhat loud so we ran fan all night to drown out noise. Staff was friendly and beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was limited but ok. I definitely will consider staying there again.

This is our second time staying here and we timed our trip to make sure we would stay here with Sophie the-best-dog-on-the-planet. (Yes, she is too.❤️)

Unrelated to dogs -this place had some of the best bed sheets I’ve ever experienced, even better than some of the really nice hotels I stay in for work! Super soft, smooth, and cooling. The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but they were out of rooms, so it definitely had that post-cigarette smell, but it wasn’t that bad, I guess. For that reason, I gave it a 3 instead of a 4 though. No special doggy treatment or anything, but it was a good location with grassy areas around for Patch to potty, close to where I wanted/needed to be, and I would definitely stay there again. Also, the lady who checked me in was very sweet, and made sure we knew that she was around until the morning in case we needed anything at all or had questions.

We chose this place for being dog friendly (only $15 pet charge) and having trailer parking. It met those needs and we felt reasonably safe. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the fridge and shower were better than we expected (though definitely out of date.) The upstairs room was easily accessible for dog walking, though our non-smoking room was behind prime smoking area, so those with serious problems with cigarette smoke might want to skip this inn. The dog run is fenced on 3 sides, the 4th is heavy with shrubs and has a very steep drop off.
The lobby has a sign that reads "Absolutely No Pets." I get it, other guests might not be comfortable with everyone's dogs, but for a dog focused site, I can't give them 5 out of 5 since pets can't be unattended in the room and aren't welcome where breakfast is served. (We each went separately, but solo travelers wouldn't have that option, so 4 out of 5, recognizing you get what you pay for.)

We had a ground floor room in the back. Very easy access to a small patch of grass across the parking lot. No need to go through COVID infested corridors, lobbies, and elevators. The mattress was reasonably comfortable. The room was spotless. Cracker Barrel next door is easily accessible via a short flight of stairs between the two parking lots.

The hotel staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The rooms and bathroom were small and in need of an upgrade. Prior visitors must not have known the rooms were non-smoking, as there was a noticeable smell. The dog relief area was not well maintained as not every visitor picked up after their dog. Maybe if the hotel had a sign to pick up after your dog and left bags and a trash can in the area, it would have been better.

Our room was acceptable but “tired”. Our a/c thermostat did not work properly. That said, we could walk to Cracker Barrel which currently has outdoor seating and well- behaved pups are welcome. Your pup cannot go into the store or restaurant and you must pay inside so if alone, this would not be something you could do. It is right next to 81 which was very convenient. Dogs are not allowed in pool area or food area. It was fine for a night while traveling.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this hotel, and I am always happy with my stay. This time, they added a dog run, and while I didn't let my dogs off leash, I was thrilled that there was a designated spot for them to be in, away from cars and traffic. Thanks!

We stopped for an overnight stay with our 2 labs. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. There was some noise from the interstate but it wasn't too bad. There is a fairly large grassy area by the hotel to let your dog run around a bit. Also, if you and your dog need to get some exercise, the Reed mountain preserve is only 10 minutes away. Nice hiking area. This stop worked well for us.

By and large this is exactly what you’d expect from a roadside motel. The bed, however, was terrific by any standard: pillows, mattress, sheets all *really* comfortable. If you’re just looking for a place to spend the night before getting back out on the road you can’t do a whole lot better.

Friendly staff, low key, clean, and conveniently located close to the highway when traveling through for long distances. Reasonably priced and pet fee is very reasonable too. Would recommend.

Hotel staff was very friendly. We received a room on the end, but wish it was upstairs. The room was very clean. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special. You can’t take your dog in the lobby because that is where the eating area is.

This very pleasant hotel is convenient for travelers with pets on rte 81. Close to the highway, easy to find, good breakfast, nice place to walk the dog and cracker barrel restaurant across common parking lot. A great find.

This was a very nice and clean hotel. No odor. We were delayed checking in due to traffic, but were greeted warmly, and accommodated with our dogs after realizing our reservation had been made incorrectly and did not include the dogs. My only concern was there was really not a good area to take the dogs potty, but did find a couple grassy areas.
