    Old growth beauty

Burlington is a beautiful old growth campground situated in redwoods. Smaller campground than its sister property Hidden Springs down the road. The Burlington sites were all pretty flat (unlike Hidden Springs). At Burlington, some sites have superb huge redwoods on it. Only vans or small RVs will fit. Novices next to me put their tent about two feet from the bear box on their site; walked across my site about two feet from my tent to get to the water spigot while talking loudly circa past 8 pm, and rinsed their toothbrushes and food dishes at the spigot (mint toothpaste and food remnants attracts bears).

Site 6 was probably the worst site being that it was oddly situated with trash bins, community water spigot, placement of the fire pit (complete with burnt food remnants from last guests - this is also a bear hazard), and parking. Your tent should be at least ten feet from each and all of these food sources, but on site 6 it's basically impossible. All other sites seemed fine. There is also one ADA site with a paved area.

Shower rooms were not perfect, but I have seen worse. Showers cost quarters. First two minutes was cold water replaced by room temp water and back to cold water when someone flushes. Odd because the sink right there had scalding water. Needless to say shower hot water system could use an upgrade and it would save water. Quarters for showers are available at check-in booth/office (when they're open).

Dogs are not allowed on trails, but are allowed in campground so this gave us a way to see a couple big redwood trees. Highly recommended.
