The Briarwood Inn is very charming and close to downtown Carmel. They provide a complimentary continental breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee. We have stayed three times in various rooms. The down side of the property is that you can hear tenants in other rooms talking which means they can hear you, and I mean talking at regular voice levels. You feel like you have to whisper. Talk to the reservation clerk to get a clear picture on the exact size of the room. Some of the bathrooms are so small that a taller/larger person can hardly manage to get into the shower.
