Reviews
- DavidOct. 23, 2022Very dog friendly!
We really enjoyed our stay here, coffee available 24 hrs. Breakfast served as part of the package, ample dog walking area. Now our dog room was a in need of updating for sure, but I think some of the rooms in the main lodge looked much better. We will certainly be returning, easy drive to downtown and other shops. The owners are easy to talk to and if you need anything they were right there to help.
- StephanieSep. 29, 2020Super location
We travel with a large dog and now a small puppy. I found this lodge, which is more like a bed and breakfast, that would allow both dogs. The pet fee was super reasonable. They have plenty of area to exercise the dogs. The owners were very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast is amazing. Rates are good. You can't go wrong staying here.
- DJul. 1, 2020Funky and friendly
We felt right at home at the Lodge, thanks to the warm welcome from the owners, an interesting and creative couple with two delightful small kids. Our dog was treated as an honored guest as well, complete with special treats.
The lodge is in a residential neighborhood, a few minutes from (charming) downtown Waynesville, with other houses nearby -- it's not some remote woodsy location. But it still has the feel of a relaxing getaway. The rooms are not fancy but have a quirky charm and are very clean and comfortable. The common areas are full of interesting decor and historical artifacts. Outside, at the fire pit, we (including pooch) joined nighly gatherings for a lively chat. Some guests come back regularly and are treated as old friends. We're already thinking we might do the same.
When in Waynesville, be sure to visit the Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery (listed under Attactions on bringfido). Your pooch gets as many free samples of gourmet treats as he or she desires, and there are lots of creative toys and souvenirs. Caution: danger of spoiled dogs!
- VictoriaAug. 28, 2018Sweet!!
Loved our stay and wished we had booked more nights! Very peaceful and convenient location. We enjoyed the other guests and Breanna and Jeffrey go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable! Amazing breakfast!!!
- BobMore than a year agoPlenty of room for our dog
We arrived in Waynesville, a town we never heard of because of the proximity to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Waynesville is between Asheville and Cherokee. We were happy to find a pet friendly place. The Lodge sits on about 3 acres of land. There was plenty of space for our dog Huckabee to run around. What we didnt expect was the amazing Farm to Table Breakfast consisting of farm raised eggs, grits, local sausage, shitake mushrooms, biscuits, Fresh pressed juice and more. The interior of the lodge was charming and the owners helped us plan a daily itinerary to go hiking and see waterfalls. Perfect in every way!
