The hotel was newer, clean, offered a nice room, and good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we were in the area. One issue though. Upon check-in, we confirmed a late checkout due to an event we were attending, but I received a voicemail from a hotel rep during the event stating that there was an issue an we were not checked out on time.
Hotel is easy to reach and the staff is very helpful. We were given a room that had easy access from the side entrance. This was great when our dog needed to go outside. The place was great for dogs. The rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly. The windows were open when we arrived and struggled to close them (we were on the first floor). One would not close tight enough for us to lock it. The rooms are showing the wear and tear of the years.
long wait at checkin--NOT the fault of those working there
Lovely rooms and very clean etc --But there was a long long wait over a half hour - 40 minutes for check in--There was no one there! They had so few people working there --the person who checked us in was also taking out the garbage . it was NOT her fault but the fault of the management. A man came down--not sure who he was --and said she will be here in a minute--and it was another 15 -20 minutes until she came. He went behind a door near the office and wold not answer any knocks on the door. Not sure why he did not check us in or the other people waiting OR why wasn't he getting the trash that the other clients were complaining about! We understand about having few staff given Covid- but we traveled to California from the east coast and back and this was the first time we had a problem like this. It was unfair to the staff trying to work there.
Staying w our 67lb mutt for 4 nights was a breeze. Make sure you get a room facing the back of the hotel to reduce road noise. Nice staff, free hot breakfast and I could take my dog anywhere outside and inside as long as we didn’t go into the food area when the food was out. 6 minute drive to the Fogelsville Dog Park.
