Our Sheltie, Pumpkin had a blast at the doggie playground at the Gettysburg KOA. This is the only place at the campground where dogs can run without a leash.

Description

Gettysburg / Battlefield KOA is located very close to the historic battlefield, and bus tours depart from the campground daily (in season). You can actually explore the battlefield on foot with Fido, and visit sites such as Little Round Top, Devil's Den and Pickett's Charge. Back at the campground, weekend entertainment includes living history encampments, Civil War songs and stories, Civil War fashion shows, ghost walks, wine tastings and pancake breakfasts. But any day of the week, you can enjoy their heated swimming pool, nature trail, bike rentals, shuffleboard, horseshoes, life-size games and mini golf. The campground has 50 amp service available, and can accommodate rigs up to 85 feet.

    Great Place

The KOA Campground is the best in Gettysburg in my opinion. The staff, grounds, activities, and being pet friendly make it a great place to stay. The grounds being built into the wood line give you the appeal of going away with still having modern amenities. If you have never stayed here you don't know what you are missing.

Pet friendly lodging minutes from town.

Dogs can stay in RVs and certain tent sites as well as certain cabins. With the exception of the double gated dog playground, dogs must be leashed at all times and are not allowed in buildings. The staff at this KOA are reasonably more accepting of visitors with pets than other KOAs I've stayed at( most act like its a huge burden to accommodate dogs in cabins/sites they claim as 'pet friendly'). Also there are many stores and restaurants in town..
