25 feet from the water, this cozy, quiet waterfront getaway on Mobile Bay in Fairhope, Alabama is a perfect place for writing, painting, or just hanging around on the wharf catching Blue Crabs. The town of Fairhope is a quaint bay-front village that began in the 19th century as an artists colony, and it still retains much of this feel, couched in a Deep-South warmth. The center of town has many quaint shops that add to this charm and evoke a feeling of stepping back in time. The house itself invites you to sit and rock, watch the pelicans, herons, and gulls fly overhead, and boil some of those crabs you catch on the pier. For those who can tear themselves away from the boiling of seafood and the clink of ice in the glass, the Gulf of Mexico is but a short drive away. Have a good time, and remember: This is the home of 'Forrest Gump', 'Cheeseburgers in Paradise' (found at Pirate's Cove), 'Margaritaville', and in nearby Mobile, the original Mardi Gras!

We stayed here with our pups in October and were blown away with both the owners attention to details and the location! The sunsets were breath taking and seeing the dolphins daily swims was so great. We had so much fun crabbing for the first time and we even did some paddle boarding. Our dogs loved this place and the owner even has a baby/dog gate on the porch so you don't have to worry about them. While we did venture into Fairhope and loved it, we really just loved being at the house fishing and watching the bay!

Just awesome both people and dog heaven
was nervous about renting a house on the internet. WOW! This home exceed any expecations I had! The location was beautiful, the owner knowledgeable and helpful. The house was so well appointed I couldn't believe it. I love to cook and everything I needed was there! Inculding cast iron pans! We cooked on the supplied BBQ grill and what can I say about the wrap around porch, rocking chairs and tables to enjoy!
We even enjoyed catching the local crabs, in our case catch and release as we don't eat crab.
We arrived in town with our car on the back of a flatbed tow truck and the owners helped us any way they could, even when a certain flatbed tow truck caused an additional problem.
Definitly enjoy the second bathroom, nothing like this coming out of the shower, covered of course and enjoying the breeze off the bay.
We were at the house in June and it was hot but the breeze made the porch so enjoyable, we took the owners advice and enjoyed the porch! (lots of trivial pursuit games).
The only thing I would point out is that Downtown Fairhope is pretty much closed on Sundays for the summer. Check before you go to any local establishments.
If we were going back to Fairhope I would so stay here again!
I can not tell you enough nice things about the house and the owners! I was way more impressed than I thought I'd be.
FIVE STARS in my humble opinion!

The house was easy to find and was very quiet and peaceful. The interior of the home was well maintained, had more than adequate space, had a beautiful view of the bay (sunsets were fabulous), and there was NOT a mold smell or evidence of mold at all!! Our allergies were not affected during this visit. The towels/linens were nice and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked. If you like filtered water, bring your own filtering mechanism. Bring zip lock bags for food storage, also. Thankfully, there was more than enough hot water! Food was all that was necessary. I did not utilize the washer/dryer while at the house, but the linens and towels were clean, smelled fresh and were abundant. The house is quiet, well priced and a JOY to visit... Last but NOT least, the owner was fantastic and jumped through many last minute hoops in order to make our stay perfect! My two shelties and I will be back for more visits in the future, guaranteed!!
