It’s a bit run down and the area around the little lake was literally a crap graveyard! You had to watch where you stepped. It was that bad. Dog droppings everywhere! Also, I wasn’t feeling well due to altitude sickness, low blood sugar. My father was flying in to Denver to help me complete my drive and an ice/ freezing rain storm was coming; I was driving a big truck and pulling a 25’ trailer and wanted to leave early to avoid any issues on the steep and winding canyon road leaving Estes Park. I had booked two nights there and checked out early so as to pick up my dad from the airport and although it seemed likely the Lodge was going to refund my reservation for the second day, they did not. When I go back to Rocky Mountain National Park in the near future, I will not be booking a stay at the Discovery Lodge!

We had an overnight stay at Discovery Lodge for some R & R. The room was clean but very small. There was 1 chair and a tiny table. We picked up a pizza for dinner and our small pizza took up the table space. You cannot leave pets alone in the room (crated or not). We did take our dog to the lobby for the breakfast (all the food was cold and needed reheating). There were so many people in line to use the microwave, I ended throwing my food away. You'd be better off fixing a plate and taking it back to your room to reheat. Our toilet didn't flush and the towel bar fell off of the wall when my husband took the towel off. He was able to fix the toilet and towel bar and reported it when we checked out. It would've been nice to have a trash can in the bathroom and a stopper for the sink for contact wearers. The staff was very nice and refunded the pet fee for the trouble. There is a nice area to walk your dog. Not sure we will be back.

Room was clean and had a great view of the property and golf course. The property is beautiful and location is within walking distance to restaurants and lake. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. My dog Yoda (Pug in a stroller) enjoyed the lovely attention he received from the staff as well. We will absolutely without a doubt make this our place to stay in the future. Thank you for a great experience. We will be back.

Dog loved the outside. We asked for bottom floor but none available. We were told easy stairs. No, not for dog or me. Dog was scared of stairs, I wear AFOs and walk with a cane. I could not help my spouse carry anything up. I would not stay there again. If you are younger and not mobility challenged you should be fine.

Great rooms, very clean, huge windows with awesome mountain views. Friendly staff that really love dogs. The grounds are super clean and beautiful and should be kept that way. Be a responsible and respectful pet owner.

This was our first visit here and our first booking through BringFido. Our Discovery Lodge room was great, the grounds and small lake very pretty and bonus of elk galore! The employees were also wonderful and continental breakfast much nicer than typical. Definitely would stay here again.

Plenty of yard for Maggie (dog) to investigate. Yard also contains a swing set, picnic tables, nice pond with benches. Great location.

Our room, on the bottom floor, had outdated furnishings, a cramped bathroom, a musty odor, and we kept seeing flies in the room, but it served its purpose. The property itself was nice though, cool pond, gazebo, fire pit, and outdoor seating. Seemed a bit overpriced for the room itself.

Great location. The room was spacious. The only complaint was that we were on the bottom floor and the person above us was a stomper most of the night. If second floor is pet friendly, book it!

We stayed one night at the discovery lodge just as a quick little weekend getaway. The room was clean and well stocked, the staff was very courteous and professional, and it had its own fishing pond. Will definitely stay here again.

The facility has a dog park, some trails a pond and play areas for your kids. A lot of wildlife was a thrill.

The grounds at Discovery Lodge are so great for dogs. Lots of space, a pond, and walking distance to Lake Estes. Also super close to downtown.
