This hotel is in a great location. Mom and I spent a day on Emerald Isle and another day visiting Morehead City and Beaufort. Our trip was for Sept 10 - 12. Check-in/out was easy, and the staff was so pleasant. I wasn't even charged the two night pet fee, and asked to make sure. BONUS!!!!
There are PLENTY of well kept grassy areas, perfect for anyone traveling with furbabies of any size.
The room I booked was clean and very spacious, and the continental breakfast had decent hot and cold options.A few cons - Since BF only had two old reviews, I read a few from the hotel website prior to booking. Someone named Richard, dated January 29, 2020. He mentioned the waffle machine not working. Not sure if that was replaced by the pancake machine, but it wasn't working either. You didn't have to swipe the room card to access the hotel from the side and back of the building. Slight safety concern there. It took a little while for the water to heat up, something I saw someone post as well. The toilet didn't automatically stop running, but I figured that one out; just gently tapped the handle after a few seconds, also mentioned in someone's post (I must have had that person's room...LOL) Overall, I would stay here again. Before I go, I want to thank the agent who assisted me with my reservation. We ran into a snag. The original room disappeared as we were finalizing the trip, but we worked it out. I wish I could remember her name.

Was very disappointed at check in. We were told a one-time fee of $50. For our 3 night stay from Fido but when we arrived they tried to tell us there was a change in rules it was $50 a nite. I had printed our receipt from BringFido and the manager said he would accept for that stay but we would never use that again. I hope that you do not recommend this hotel. It was dirty in the bathroom and the toilet had feces stuck to the bowl of it. Git up in the am to take a shower and noticed a puddle of water coming out on the floor. We could have slipped on this in the middle of the nite and this was not from our dog she was confined. Do not recommend this hotel. We however are completely satisfied with BringFido and will continue to use your services. Thank you.

Our room at the Holiday Inn Express had a great little kitchenette, and it was clean. But the shower was disgusting. There was mold along the bottom, a huge black stain right where one stands, and paint was peeling off the ceiling. When I mentioned it at checkout, I was told that all the bad weather that area has been having has taken a toll on the property. The bathrooms are due to be remodeled. Hopefully that will happen soon.

Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Cashless payment is available. Each room has a 24-hour gap period between stays, and hotel staff are required to wear masks.
