  Unforgettable time for our family and our four dogs!

  I can't say enough wonderful things about this experience!! Our family of five (two parents and three boys) stayed comfortably in the Carriage House apartment, and our four rescue beagles loved the beautiful deck and the safely fenced play-yard. All of the rentals on the property are designed in a way to maximize privacy, and to bring the outside in. Skylights, wood decks extending out into the woods with views of white birches and beautiful evergreens, quiet and stars like you have never seen them before. I can't say enough good things. Not to mention, the Ryan family went out of their way to make our stay amazing -- we got to practice yoga with the amazing Britt Hulbert under the birches on our deck, our kids got to play with the Ryan children in the courtyard, they were extra helpful and loving towards our canines, and they gave us so much valuable advice and support as first time visitors to the Bar Harbor area. We hope to return next summer with our extended family, and rent out the whole place!! If you love dogs and nature and nice people and comfy clean beautiful places to stay, you've found the best one.:)

  Great place to stay!

  I’ve been staying here for over 15 years, and just love it! A great place to stay - the comforts of home with a mountain view and accommodations nestled in a wooded setting just minutes from town. You’ll find comfy beds with soft sheets and comforters, bathroom with towels and hair dryer, and living room furniture in which to relax. Plus, full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, toaster oven, coffee maker, etc., deck with gas grill and table for outdoor meals, all neat, very clean, and ready to enjoy. On-site laundry, too. The Ryans are very responsive hosts to requests. Bring your pet and enjoy a delightful vacation!

  Highly recommend Ryan's Estates!!! Perfect pet friendly holiday.

  This is a fantastic place for dogs and their humans. We've stayed with them 3 times and plan on returning this fall. All apartments/cabins have fenced areas so you can relax indoors or on the porches while still keeping an eye on your pup outside. They also have a small fenced off-leash area that our dogs love - complete with pooper scoopers & a garbage can for poop placement. The accommodations are pet proof so you don't need to worry about a pup out of sight can get into trouble (we have a dog that eats everything she can get in her mouth). With complete kitchens & bbq's attached to each unit it's easy to cook at home or reheat leftovers in doggy bags. They have self-serve laundry on site which is critical if you have messy dogs like ours. One time both our dogs ran into a marsh and the Ryan staff helped us give them an outdoor doggy bath. As my title says - I highly recommend Ryan Estates.

  Great Location And Very Outdated

  it’s a great location near park. we were out and about most of the time we were hiking with our dog Hank. property is very outdated and no heating as the temps drop to 50’s at night. overall great place for the dog.

  Beautiful area to stay, close to many hiking trails and Bar Harbor. Very clean rooms. The people that clean definitely do a great job for the age of the place. Can't even tell that dogs stay there. However the place needs some updates. Fire detectors weren't even put up. The room could use new rugs, couches, and refrigerators. But decent place to bring the pooches if you want a clean, quiet, relaxing getaway
