        Beautiful and very dog friendly

The grounds were so beautiful. And super dog friendly. My dog has a bit of separation anxiety and Craig was so nice to listen out for her and would go in a take her out of her crate and entertain her is needed, It make me feel at ease leaving her there for a while. Wonderful grounds to walk your dog around. Besides all that, the breakfast was delicious and I would recommend waking up a bit earlier for the history talk.

        Romantic and Beautiful

Had a great stay. The staff is not just friendly but knows the history and obviously loves working here. The rooms are beautiful and the grounds are just as lovely. The dogs are welcome everywhere, and they were as relaxed as we were. We stayed in Houghtelin's Hideaway and it was great to have access to the gardens. If we're ever back in Gettysburg, we'll be staying again.

        Beautiful B&B

We stayed for the second time and love it, our maltese was treated so well also. We stayed in Anna's Garden Room this year which was huge and beautiful. My husband liked the history talk in the morning. I loved the beautifully presented breakfast which was as good as it looked.

Hoping to go back again next year!

        Perfect Dog-Friendly Home Base

This is not just one of the best dog-friendly B&Bs we've stayed at, but is one of the best B&Bs overall. Super friendly staff. The grounds were beautiful, as was the house. And add on top how dog-accommodating they were! Our room was nicer than in the website photos - just know that the walls are thin and it can be a bit noisy with dogs barking at night. Take advantage of the civil war lectures in the morning. We stayed 3 nights and each day was a different presentation - very educational and interesting. Breakfasts were AMAZING (and so were the afternoon cookies). There is one battlefield location within walking distance (you walk on the road for about 20ft); all other sites you need to drive to, but everything is within 10 minutes.

        Great Experience

My husband and I took our scotties on vacation, one of the older ones has cancer and it was his "special" trip. Most of our vacation was budget, but I decided to splurge for one night! We got The Tack Room, under the barn. Travelling with dogs, I wanted to be in an area that was easy access, and away from the main B&B (also did not want to pay a pet fee). Being right under the barn, my scotties were able to get up close and personal with the horses. It was a great experience for them. The room was gorgeous, however the air conditioned struggled to keep up with the crazy high temperatures. The shower was large and amazing! During the night, I woke to footsteps in the barn............. It was a field hospital during the war, many of the patients did not make it. Before breakfast we were treated to a lesson in history from a re-enactor. Breakfast was delicious, crispy home fries, scrambled eggs, fresh melon and southern biscuits and gravy! Not bad for a Yankee establishment.

        Great resort with wonderful people

The grounds were inviting, the people were friendly and the breakfast was the best we had on our entire vacation. This is the best place to go in PA.

        A True Gem

We loved our stay at the Battlefield B & B! It was more than we hoped for - from the history talks in the morning, the biscuit and blanket for the puppy and delicious food for us. Wonderful grounds! We will be back!

Our first trip with our 1 year old Cavalier and it couldn't have been better. Food was great, staff was friendly, history talks interesting, room was immaculate. They even "rescued" the little guy when he suffered separation anxiety.

We looked firsthand at all the other places in and around Gettysburg, and this one was by far the most dog-friendly. Best place we've ever stayed from that point of view, and very highly recommended!
