    Glamping with a View

Having never "glamped" I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the moment we arrived it was an entirely delightful experience. Entering the main lobby tent, my yellow lab Baylor and I were greeted and checked in with friendly efficiency. Lexi showed us to the parking area most convenient to our location and offered assistance unloading and transporting belongings from the motorcycle to the tent.

The safari tent was absolutely beautiful with a woodstove, stellar views and fully function bathroom. The tents do not have electricity in them, but you are able to charge devices in the main tent if needed. Not only does this lend to the unplugged, camping experience, but allows the entire property to use as much electricity as an average household, which really impressed me.

The lobby tent also features a sitting area with fire, 24-hour coffee, tea and cocoa as well as an outdoor fire each night. My dog loved walking around the property with me and we both appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was.

I can't wait to return, but there are a few things you should consider to make sure this is the right fit for you. First off, the bathrooms in the safari tent are only separated from the main room by a privacy curtain. I thought it added a delightful part of the tent experience, but if you are not very close with your traveling companion it could be awkward. Second, you should remember that this is still a form of camping. Canvas is not completely soundproof, so you may hear other quests at times and expect to be more closely in tune with the whims of the weather.

The closeness to nature was one of my favorite aspects. Each morning I loved being able to watch the sunrise from our tent porch, walk Baylor around the property watching the jackrabbits, birds and wildlife and really feel a part of the majestic red rocky landscape. Situated on a hilltop, the views of both Arches National Park and the La Sal mountain range were stunning.

I absolutely recommend staying here. From the views to the location, the people, the tent lodging, the pet friendliness and all the small details in between, the team at Moab Under Canvas made the entire glamping experience wonderfully memorable and enjoyable.
