Best spot in town. Everyone was really nice. Appropriate for all sizes of dogs. As a dog fanatic it was right up our alley. Happy and friendly host greeted me and my dogs. Great outside shower to rinse you and your pet off. Bring your own towels though. They provide them here but not sure if they can keep up with demand. And after staying for 3 nights once you checkout you can no longer use the outside shower for dogs. I would have paid a flat rate shower fee for one more dog rinse.
- EllenJul. 21, 2020I Love It!!
The Cayucos Motel was marvelous, one of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. One of our favorite parts was that a huge off-leash dog beach was just across the street, and it had many treasures on it. When we booked our stay they asked our pets’ names and if they had allergies. Then when we checked in we found out why: they gave us dog bowls with our dogs' names hand painted on them. Each bowl had a squeaky ball in it matching the color of the bowl, a stuffed squeaky toy, and an equal amount of the same treats. From the beginning the small staff was extremely friendly, were interested in friendly conversation, and seemed like family. They showed us personally the dog shower, the rags for wet or dirty dogs, the lawn with chairs and ashtrays with a great ocean view, and the fenced green area. There are 7 rooms and we stayed in room 2, and it was cleaned very thoroughly. It had a king bed, fridge that worked really well, bathroom with a shower our dogs could step into, a table, a small TV, and a closet. The room was bright and beach themed, and the location of the hotel is really close to a lot of great restaurants. It was small, but my daughter, our two large dogs and I fit in it nicely. The TV had more channels than on the guide, so be sure to flip through them if you are looking for something other that isn’t on the guide. I love this hotel and can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend it for everyone, no matter the size of the dog.
- JerryJul. 3, 2019Excellent location almost on the beach
The owners are very pet friendly and have their own dog ( Maggie) keeping a eye on everything The rooms are exceptionally clean and neat and the bed was very comfortable. They are located on the main road through town but after 10pm it is very quiet. They are about 100 feet from the beach where dogs are allowed on leash. Excellent free breakfast is available between 8 and 10 am.
- JohnMore than a year ago"Pet Friendly" does not begin to describe this place!
Where else could you arrive with 3 dogs over 100 lbs and be welcomed with open arms? The personnel were uniformly warm and friendly, the room clean and well furnished, but the real draw here is the location, right on the beach, and the total commitment to our furry children. This is a small motel that makes you feel like family.
- LindaMore than a year agodogs treated like royalty
From the moment we arrived, we felt the love! Our three dogs we greeted like royalty. They were given a hand painted dog bowl with their names on them. Filled with treats and toys, my dogs were over the moon! The Room was very clean and tidy. We were thrilled to find a coffee maker and refrigerator. It is located just a few steps from the beach. There were so many charming and unique surprises, from the towel sculpture of an elephant to the dog shower and AMAZING breakfast that included fresh melon balls, cantaloupe, watermelon and honey dew....a large bowl of fresh berries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and a variety of breads and bagels etc, yummy. And the bed was really comfy and the sheets were extremely soft!!! We will go back again and again. We hope our dogs bring us back there soon!
