    Great stay

We brought our two fur babies for an overnight stay in the city. While the hotel itself was very warm and welcoming, the parking situation was a bit crazy (valet only -$38) and there was next to no grass for the pups to do their business. Our room was clean and the view from the ninth floor was beautiful too. Bed was actually comfortable for us and the dogs.

    Great Hotel

Beautiful hotel, very welcoming, very helpful and gracious staff. It really was a wonderful experience. They left bowls and a bed in the room for our little dog and everything!
The hotel is right in the city, and here’s the only reason I gave it 4 bones instead of 5: The closest grassy area to take your dog potty is about a block away. And it’s a park that was closed when we were there. So I just let my dog off her leash and I stayed outside the area while she walked around pretty well unnoticed and did her business. So I would recommend training your dog to go on a piddle pad or just be prepared to walk a block and maybe have to let your dog off leash to sneak into the grassy park.

    Allows pets

Pet option was a benefit, but no where convenient for dog to use the bathroom outside or inside. No dog greeting or anything related to the dog whatsoever.

    The Kimpton Aims To Please!

We stayed at the Kimpton for one night. Upon check in, the staff was welcoming to us even with with a wet, barking dog. A plush doggie bed and two dog bowls were waiting for us in the room. The hotel felt luxurious but didn’t charge any pet fee. My only concern is the only nearby green space was closed. Thankfully our pup adapted and used the alley for her potty breaks.

    Great rooms and Staff.

From the moment we got out of the car, the staff made us and our pups feel very welcome. The rooms were amazing, perfect for downtown events. If I have a reason to go to Pittsburgh again, I would definitely stay here.

    The BEST!

My daughter is a freshman at University of Pittsburgh and she desperately wanted us to bring our dog to Pitt from NJ when we came to visit. This hotel was highly recommended by BringFido reviewers, so we booked it. Hotel Monaco didn’t disappoint. What a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms. But what set it apart for us was the service of the staff. Our bellman took me to our room while my husband parked the car. In addition to all our stuff and the dog crate, Cleo, our 9-month old Belgian Tervuren pup, wouldn’t get on the elevator. It was comical, honestly, but the bellman made me feel better by telling us how they had a pit bull earlier in the week that was afraid to walk on the tile, so they had to put it on the cart and wheel it up to the room! We finally got her on after much coaxing, and he brought us to the room, setting things up for us and offering dog bowls if needed. But the most incredible part was when we left Cleo in the room to go to the U of Pitt football game. We warned the front desk that she was in the soft crate but may bark for a while as she struggles when separated from us. They told us not to worry as they would take care of her. We returned 4 hours later and found out she busted out of the crate, but our bellman checked on her, played with her and gave her treats while we were out. She caused no damage (other than chewing through the soft crate!) and apparently really loved her visitor. He also brought her downstairs where she was keeping the front desk company! What a wonderful experience for all of us. Knowing how much the staff cared for Cleo gave us such peace of mind. They also had great dog friendly recommendations for restaurants nearby! We will definitely be back!
